We’re pleased to announce an exclusive new partnership today that makes Towleroad not just the best LGBT source for domestic news but also the most comprehensive source for international news in LGBT media.
Regular readers of the site know we’ve been blogging about international LGBT issues for years, covering news that's urgent and disturbing, disturbing and amusing , or just plain diverting since long before the Sochi Olympics.
But, we’re upping our international game by partnering with GlobalPost to broaden and deepen our coverage. Since launching in 2009, GlobalPost, one of the most comprehensive sources of international news, has won some of the most prestigious journalism awards, including the Peabody, the Polk, two Edward R. Murrow Awards, and the Overseas Press Club Award. We're thrilled to join other GlobalPost partners including NBC News and local papers across the country to bring this coverage to Towleroad readers. Their roster of talented reporters, writers, editors and photographers are posted and posting from around the world. With 29 full-time editorial staff and correspondents plus a network of 75 freelance journalists in every region, GlobalPost reports on strategic business, political and social trends and topics. In addition to regular coverage of LGBT issues we've found many other areas of common interest with the GlobalPost editorial team and we'll be weaving in a mix of their posts from a new set of voices, just as we have over the past year with our incredible roster of accomplished and up and coming blogging talent.
And since we're in the season of reflection, not to mention the 10th anniversary of this site, there's not enough recognition possible for the fact that none of this would be here without my business partner Andy, whose vision and insane dedication, extraordinary commitment and talent (not to mention hard work training, editing and guiding our team of writers and columnists) has expanded this site from a personal blog started a decade ago into one that we've partnered on growing for the past 8, and that has has transformed into the comprehensive news source with millions of readers that it is today.
Looking forward, we're excited to add the GlobalPost dimension to Towleroad, as well as some other additions and redesigns we have in the works. It's a precarious way to spend one's life and earn a living, but a great one. So thanks all the folks who have contributed to the site this year. And, as always, thanks to all of your for your support, for sharing your news tips with us first, and for reading, sharing posts, and telling your friends you “saw it on Towleroad.”
