Bryan Fischer: The Poor Should Be 'Kissing The Ground' On Which The Rich Walk - VIDEO

Screen Shot 2014-04-16 at 3.21.27 PM

American Family Association spokeshater Bryan Fischer, responding to a recent Wall Street Journal article reporting that the top 1% of Americans account for nearly 30% of all federal tax revenue, had this to say on his radio program:

So rather than the poor, the low-income, and the middle class being resentful of [the rich], they should be kissing the ground on which they walk. Who’s paying for the EBT cards? Who’s paying for food stamps? Who’s paying for the women and infant children program? Who’s paying for subsidized housing? Who’s paying for Medicaid? It is the top 1% So they ought to be given ticker tape parades once a week in all of our major cities to thank them for funding welfare for everybody.

  2. How many listeners does this bloviating
git have? How many of them are in any position to make a difference in any public policies? Should we pay attention to any of his utterances for a reason other than cheap entertainment? Please tell me, somebody.

  3. Jesus begs to differ. The only time He ever got angry was with arrogant self-righteous religious leaders and the rich. And fig trees. Definitely had a thing about fig trees.

Now, Brian Fischer, whom do you serve? One master fills your pockets with wealth. One fills you with love for all eternity. Choose wisely.

  4. I wasn't ever good at math, so someone correct me if I'm wrong...isn't 70 a greater number than 30?? So until the poor are in the minority, there will be no ticker tape parades.
    What a blowhard!

So...why don't the top 1% who have 99% of the wealth pay 99% of the nation's taxes?

  5. I'm poor and I don't have an EBT card, food stamps or subsidized housing. I do have a job which barely covers things. He can kiss my a** though.

  6. Or just eat them.

  7. @AJ: according to

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/15/income-distribution-visualizing-economics_n_3044892.html

the top 1% get 19.8% of the income in the U.S. so paying 30% of the income tax simply reflects a slightly progressive tax system. If they want their total contribution to taxes to go down, all they have to do is to lower their wages and raise the wages of people having trouble getting by.

  8. Nope, the rich should be grateful the poor is not dragging them to the guillotine or eating them. "Do you hear the people sing, singing the songs of angry men. It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again."

  9. Can someone still call themselves a Christian if what they're preaching is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Christ? People who have actually read the Gospels might suspect that if there is a Hell, Jesus Christ will be holding its door open for Bryan Fischer.

  10. The bloated toad is even more vicious and stupid than I thought. What a boot lickin tool. He sure has been trained well by his money masters. He whores that mouth of his for any message with money involved.

  11. Maybe the rich will let the poor eat cake.

  12. @ SEAN :

    You anticipate me.
Set up the guillotine in the Place de la Concord or Dupont Circle ; or Central Park; or Wall Street.
Instead of kissing the ground on which the 1% walk let's restore the principle of one man one vote....not bought votes, not fixed constituencies not corporations buying elections; not the Koch brothers corrupting the electoral process.
The 1% need to be re-educated in the meaning of democracy.

  15. You people can hate all ya want! The truth is that the wealthy people are the creators in society. They make things and they buy things and that is what keeps you slobs employed!

My dad was the CFO at a corporation. He worked while a lot of lazies slept in. He taught me about makers and takers and how every society has people on top and people below. People of good talent and breeding are always going to be better off than the moochers!

  18. Cognitive disconnect here, folks.

The top 1% DO NOT PAY 30% taxes, they do every single legal and illegal thing they can do to make sure they hardly pay any taxes at all. If you think that's wrong, do some digging, why do you think they employ tax lawyers???

The vast majority of the tax burden of this country is paid by the middle class and always has been paid by the middle class.

  21. I have an alternative suggestion about something the rich, Missy Fisher and the AFA can kiss.

  22. Just another point: The rich own most of the assets yet when it comes time to defend those assets the middle class bears not only the economic cost but has to put their lives on the line to do it.

A recent example: Bush/Cheney started wars and at the same time reduced taxes on the wealthy. The result was the biggest financial collapse since the Great Depression. Reason: the transfer of wealth out of middle class pockets and into the economic elite class.

You can't starve the middle class in a mass consumer society. Republican strategies will turn the USA into a second class economy if pursued. Meanwhile many other countries are building stronger middle classes. With better living standards than the USA has according to many measures of health, education and greater equality of wealth.

  23. The Republicans always use federal income taxes to make their comparisons when total taxes are the relevant measure. When sales taxes, taxes on gasoline, tobacco and alcohol, toll road fees, licensing fees, and all other flat taxes are included the average middle class person pays more in taxes than a wealthy person.

And even Warren Buffett has pointed out that his income tax burden is less than his secretary's!

  25. So where does the money from the OTHER 70% of tax revenue go to????? The last time I checked, 70% is greater than 30%, isn't it?

Go watch Forrest Gump! "Stupid is as stupid does"
