  1. OT -- but the site is acting very weird for me the past couple of days -- often won't load and other strangeness.

  2. About the article that says the U.S. is no longer a democracy - the U.S. was never a democracy. It's a republic.

  5. Correct Mike, the U.S. is a republic, strictly speaking. We're also these days a full fleged soft fascist oligarchy, imho. A tiny elite and mega corporations run this country, and other so-called democracies. Our 2 party system gives us the illusion (right vs left) of choice.

Yeah, what was the 'uknown domain' error on TR today? This site has been 'acting up' more than usual lately.

  9. ABC News hires anti-gay FOX News contributor Laura Ingraham

She did far more damage to CA's Prop 8 vote -- with her syndicated radio show urging thousands to vote yes -- than Brendan Eich ever did. Yet we dogpiled on him (at least four Towleroad columns ripping him) and she doesn't even merit her own thread.

    Very selective outrage.
