The poll, commissioned by groups led by conservatives Gary Bauer and Tony Perkins, runs counter to a wide variety of opinion polls that show movement on the question of same-sex marriage, with more voters favoring it than opposing it."

RoadCould a deadly asteroid be coming soon? "None of the 26 asteroids in Brown's data was big enough to destroy a city, because of their size and composition and because all exploded high in the atmosphere. But Lu says this database of harmless asteroids can be extrapolated to shed light on the frequency of their fearsome cousins. The results suggest that a city-killer strikes once a century, though Lu says he wouldn't be surprised if the true rate were actually less worrisome, perhaps once every 150 or 200 years or less frequent still."

RoadPoll disappoints scientists: "About 4 in 10 say they are not too confident or outright disbelieve that the earth is warming, mostly a result of man-made heat-trapping gases, that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old or that life on Earth evolved through a process of natural selection, though most were at least somewhat confident in each of those concepts. 1. Hardy is too bulky and attractive to play elton john

elton was thin in his youth and balding badly when quite young, whils also never considered attractive

  3. People "actually chooses a worthy" most beautiful person? I agree Lupita is worthy and is beautiful, but why have former people chosen not been beautiful? Beyonce isn't beautiful? Jennifer Lopez isn't beautiful? Halle Berry isn't beautiful? Weird phrasing if you ask me.

  4. HARDY is Elton's fantasy about his own life-he is going to have to look a bit more nerdy to play young Elton....everyone should see Sean William Scott in the very funny sport comedy " The Goon"- rent it now!

  5. Good lord, there's no reason Tom Hardy shouldn't play Elton John. Barbara Streisand looked nothing like Fanny Brice. Patty Duke doesn't particularly resemble the young Helen Keller. The caucasian Jesus in the Churches most likely bears no resemblence to a Semitic man living in Galilee 2,000 years ago. Tom Hardy will be fine.

  7. Samish, last year People famously chose the actress who had a movie coming out (X-Men) and the person who has been named 'the most disliked celebrity' for two-three years running as their "most beautiful person" and it was obvious her PR paid for it. It was Gwenyth Paltrow.

  8. The lesbian triad relationship is not recognized as a legal marriage by the State of Massachusetts or any other state for that matter. Reporting that they are a 'married lesbian throuple' is therefore inaccurate, misleading and gives the anti-equality crowd ammunition in their specious argument that marriage equality will lead to polygamy.

  9. Phew, I'm glad Lupita is deserving of the most beautiful because she is black, while Gwyneth clearly isn't because she's white, thin, and blond. Please, it's ALL a PR joke. If anything it's humorous how much the media is falling all over itself to deify this woman after one frickin movie. Get back to me after she's been around for awhile.

  10. "white thin and blonde" is what propelled Paltrow to #1 on the most disliked celebrity list? (you can Google it) I always thought it was her pretentious GOOP site where you can be like Gwenyth and cook for your weekend backyard party in a 500 dollar sleeveless white shirt (available on GOOP) in your 3500 dollar wood burning backyard pizza oven (available on GOOP). I think they calculated with the place settings (available on GOOP) it would be a bargain at under 7,500 dollars though, (just). I'm no big Lupita fan and couldn't care less who's on People's "beautiful" list but please don't feign confusion as to why Gwenyth Paltrow is so disliked and why after chosen her people are relieved at Lupita.
