Alan Keyes Says Gay Marriage Leads To Totalitarian Nazi Government: VIDEO

Alan KeyesThe Nazi thing again, really? Alan Keyes, who in the past has accused gays and marriage equality supporters of committing crimes against humanity and compared to gay marriage to picking one's nose, has gone full Godwin and leveled the accusation that legalizing gay marriage goes down the path of establishing a totalitarian Nazi government.

Said Keyes in his speech:

You think that homosexual marriage is about homosexuality, ethics and behavior; I tell you homosexual marriage is about the very founding principle of our free way of life and it ends up making government the all-powerful, totalitarian ruler of every human being from the cradle to the grave.

You can watch the speech AFTER THE JUMP...

  3. No Alan. Gay marriage has very little effect on your life. A bigger issue for you should be seeing to your over-entitlement and paranoia.

  6. as usual, anything that comes out of Mr. Keye's mouth is nonsensical, illogical, irrational and just plain stupid!

  8. Alan Keyes has nothing to lose. First, Herman Cain pushed him aside, and now, Ben Carson has made both of them distant memories. Keyes can say whatever he wants, and all he gets his attention for his having made crazy and extremist comments. Politically, he is finished.

  14. While I believe it's good to stay informed the opposition's viewpoint, I'm kinda tired of hearing a daily flavor-of-evil with which each and every wingnut wants to compare gays and gay marriage.

If a currently campaigning political candidate says something particularly nasty, I definitely want to be armed with that info so I can share it with conservative acquaintances who'd be inclined to vote for them. But I kinda don't need to hear what ever batshit-crazy extremist says -- if someone is voting for them (or attending their church), nothing i share is going to change their mind. I'm quickly becoming desensitized to these headlines.

  17. then why does history show the majority of totalitarian regimes were religion based

  18. Mr Keyes has no idea was a totalitarian government is. 150 years ago I could have owned this man. Now that he has his freedoms he wants to deny others their rights. Very sad.

  19. Damn, someone has finally caught on to our diabolical plot. I'm surprised it took this long, frankly. But we have ways of addressing this.

  20. So if gay marriage leads to Totalitarian Nazi government, of which there has been one - the one, how many gay marriages were there in Germany leading up to the Third Reich?

  21. If we imagine, imagine just for a moment, the unlikely scenario that Mr. Keyes is _not_ simply a lunatic looking for leavings from the fringe to support a completely fantasized political career, imagine that he actually thought out that absurd claim, I wonder what his reasoning might have been. This would have to mean that he's _not_ mouthing extreme and irrational claims simply to get attention; that there's actually a reason to lend his claim any credulity. As a fairly rational liberal, I can only assume that such claims must arise out of total immersion in the conservative echo chamber where true-believers repeatedly distill their value-laden verbiage until it has become unadulterated bile to be regurgitated upon any friendly mass communication medium. Odd that such bilge doesn't cause flighty co-hosts to flounce off set more often.

Yep, and as I've pointed out recently, the latest research shows father-to-daughter inheritance of homosexuality is probably more common than father-to-son.

  24. I think Mr. Keyes was a Black Republican Conservative flavor of the month about ten years ago. And he does have a lesbian daughter. So why is this guy quoted today when his short lived (as they all are) sell by date has long expired?

I predict that Ben Carson will be number one in the Republican primary race for about a week, and then left in the dustbin of history shortly thereafter like all the rest.

  25. Right. Because totalitarian nazi governments are always the best for minority rights.

    Fail.
