Georgia GOP Candidate Says Gays Plot to Sodomize Children: VIDEO

JodyHiceDebate

Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA)—a man whose beliefs are close to the pinnacle of right-wing lunacy—is stepping down to run for the Senate, leaving a large set of clown shoes to fill in Georgia's 10th Congressional district. And it looks like those shoes might be filled by even bigger feet than Broun's. Southern Baptist pastor and radio show host Jody Hice, who has an extensive history of anti-progressive views, is currently in the lead after one round of voting in the district.

Tim Murphy, writing in Mother Jones, lays out in great detail just how extreme Hice's beliefs are:

[Hice] alleges the gay community has a secret plot to recruit and sodomize children. In It's Now or Never: A Call to Reclaim America, Hice also asserts that supporters of abortion rights are worse than Hitler and compares gay relationships to bestiality and incest. He proposes that Muslims be stripped of their First Amendment rights.

...

With his book, Hice checks virtually every box of the social conservative job application. Referring to the arrest of anti-gay demonstrators in Elmira, New York, Hice likes local law enforcement to "the Gestapo." And this is part of a nationwide assault: "Evidently there are many who believe a 'Gestapo-like' presence is needed by the government in order to corral and keep under control, all these 'dangerous' Christians."

Hice claims homosexuality causes shorter life spans and depression, and he insists same-sex couples cannot raise healthy children. He writes, "Some ask the question, 'How does same-sex 'marriage' threaten your marriage?'," he writes. "The answer is similar to asking, 'How does a trashy neighborhood affect you?' It might not affect you at all on a personal level. But, we are not talking about 'a' same-sex marriage. We are talking about an effort to redefine marriage, and that would have drastic results and irreversible consequences!"

Murphy reports that Hice has a "good chance of being elected to Congress."

  1. Does anyone else think that this should be grounds for a class-action defamation suit? How do these thugs get away with these outrageous and outright lies? This violation should NOT be protected under the Freedom of Speech umbrella.

  2. I'd rather sodomize their daddies. I like them older.

  3. "In 1995, local child protective service agencies identified 126,000 children who were victims of either substantiated or indicated sexual abuse; of these, 75% were girls. Nearly 30% of child victims were between the ages of 4 and 7." http://www.sarsonline.org/resources-stats/reports-laws-statics

Perhaps, as a 'straight' person, he'd know about pedophilia.

  6. Will anyone really be surprised if this guy wins and wins big? He's simply a reflection of the bigoted cesspool that is Georgia. I sincerely believe the yahoos there have the ability to comprehend how very, very wrong this guy is.

  7. Nothing to worry about here, the primary was yesterday. He only got 11% of the vote.
    Good Riddance!

  8. Buster, you are referring to Paul Broun. Jody Hice, by contrast, was the top vote-getter in his race yesterday and has advanced to a run-off in July for the Repug nomination for this House seat. He's a perfect representative of the bigoted party whose nomination he is seeking.

  9. You obviously have the LBGT community confused with the Roman Catholic Church .

  10. He won a third of the vote. His main opponent also won a third. Three other candidates split the other third. I'm guessing Hice gets about 40% in the runoff. He's just another perennial candidate in Republican primaries where a small number of true-believing malcontents can have a large, disproportionate effect on the vote.

  11. @ToThePoint - My thought exactly. This man is engaging in defamation of character by accusing us all of being pedophiles. A charge like that should require proof--which he's not going to be able to produce--or be subject to punitive damages.

  12. How in the world do people like this make it into Congress?

  13. Dear Rep Paul Broun, thanks for letting the world know what you think about when you jack off.

Make no mistake, every time you hear one of these jagoff's make a statement about us that is so unhinged from reality, they are talking about their own secret shameful desires that ripple through their own nightly fever dreams. Bank on it.

  14. Virtually every other lawn in our county (Walton) has one of his campaign signs posted in it. It's really disturbing.

More prone to depression, eh? That couldn't have something to do with the fact that most of my neighbors are hung-ho to elect a guy who demonizes and defames me for political gain by leveraging ignorance and bigotry, could it? That's sure as hell where a good bit of my anxiety comes from, anyway.
