    Another clue it is a fake:
    Hawking doesn’t speak that fast with his speech simulator. When he gives a speech, he usually pauses for a full minute before answering a specific question. The whole room would be in an awkward silence waiting for his answer. Unless they also edited out the pauses.

    It takes a long time for him to get his point across, he probably had the writers coordinated with him ahead of time before the real interview to get the whole script done.

    Hrm… science fiction is full of examples of ‘imaginary time’ it’s the whole basis for branching timelines… breaking off of the linear ‘rail’ of past and future and creating a whole alternate history or future.
