Slow news day, I guess. He’s what, 15 years old in this video? The Bieb’s already got his bona fides in so, uh, this really is just the 24/7 vulture media trying to stir up some sh*t. Fail.

  2. DJSauvage says

I don’t know where you are all from, but I grew up in the 80’s in western Washington, and I never heard teenage friends tell jokes like this.

  3. Dehreeus says

Have to remember that white homosexuals are still white FIRST and see no problem with “so what”-ing this or making excuses.

Bieber is trash and needs to be deported.

  4. James in Halifax says

I’m two seconds from deleting this blog from my twitter – this is not news, has nothing to do with ‘Homosexual Tendencies’. Clean it up or I give up. This blog is getting tired, imo.

  5. fern says

Interesting timing. He’s been trying to move into R&B and has been gaining black fans of his newer music. Its almost like a targeted release and attempt at sabotage, especially considering the video is from over 4 years ago. Makes you wonder who is behind this.

  6. oncemorewithfeeling says

Who knew Trollroad had BEIBER trolls?!?

For something that some find so boring, they sure are excited about it!

You’re never going to find anything more ridiculous to troll about than Beiber and How great racism is and the idea that all 15 year-old boys are racist, so I suggest you pack it in and go out on top!

  7. bambinoitaliano says

The media is a bigger whore than Justine Bieber. Go figure! They need to extend his career another 15 minutes so you can sell more ads. Keep digging I’m sure he said something homophobic, sexist and totally inappropriate at the age of 13.

  8. Randal Oulton says

Presumably the comment from Little Kiwi was faked by an entity such as which portrays Rick… the comment system on this blog is SO old and broken (and they never ever look at the comments)

  9. Mewissa Harwiss Pehwee says

Derrick – Like racist jokes can’t be funny? You know why blacks don’t take cruises? We not falling for that again!

  10. Mewissa Harwiss Pehwee says

There is no such thing as racism against white people so I don’t know what point you are trying to make.

    POSTED BY: DERRICK

You aren’t stupid. Of course there is racism against white people. google uhuru news or go to newsone.com

  11. Bill says

@DERRICK : Actually, there is racism against white people. For example, uses of the Chinese word guizi (“ghost”as a derogatory term for Caucasians). According to some Chinese friends, such terms are used a lot more than you might think, but are not understood by most Americans as they don’t know Mandarin. Not sure what the Cantonese equivalent is.

  12. anon says

I guess this is supposed to be in line with what happened w/ the Clippers, but more likely this was leaked out to get the Beeb some badly needed publicity. If you think this was sort of attack against JB, and not part of a PR strategy by his team, you need your head examined. For this to appear all over news gossip sites would require a team of PR guys with a lot of knowhow. Otherwise it wouldn’t get noticed at all.

  13. Peter says

    Bill,

In the United States, there isn’t racism against white people. “Racism” is not just having a prejudice against someone because of his race. “Racism” by definition is systemic and structural. In the US, blacks face overwhelming prejudice that is enforced not just by thinking but also by custom, law, and institutional power. For instance, whites do not face the kind of systemic police brutality that blacks do. Whites also do not face the same kind of economic discrimination that blacks face in mortgages. This same kind of racism is felt by Native Americans in parts of the US and by Latinos. Asian Americans experienced this kind of experience historically but to a lesser extent today.

While a white person may face bigotry based on his race, that is not “racism.”

As for Bieber, the video just shows him for being a privileged, spoilt white kid who was oblivious to racism because it doesn’t affect him. He may have friends who are black but he doesn’t really understand the power and privilege he has versus them.

Children can lose their racist beliefs. Lets hope that Bieber has lost his since the video was made.

  14. Princely says

From every interview I’ve seen (and I’ve seen maybe two) he seems to be mentally challenged as it is. This does nothing to change my mind.

  15. Bill says

@Peter: not true at all. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kill_Haole_Day (and remember that Hawaii is part of the U.S.) There’s some question as to whether these incidents are real or not, but the use of the term as a slur apparently does occur.

Also, in the past there was plenty of discrimination against European immigrants.

You are confusing the existence of racism with its effectiveness.

  16. Tyler says

“Racism” by definition is systemic and structural.

Petey, my boy, you don’t get to make the definitions. No, racism isn’t limited to the systemic and structural. The folks who want to limit the definition are minority racists who don’t want to be called out as such. Stop aiding and abetting racism, Pete!

Yes Buckie you are a bad person and yes I am disgusted white people are claiming to be victims even when black people are the target in this post. Justin is making fun of black people getting slashed in half running for their lives afaid hunted down, beaten and killed by a white person. That comment Justin made was created to mock black people running from the klan. Justin knew how demeaning and hateful this was that is why him and his team put in millions of dollars to buy the video. Justin put in bids to try and buy the racist vile video so it can never be seen but of course the white gays of this site is full of so whats and I don’t care, of course. Wouldn’t expect you all to break a nail caring about other races dignity and respect besides your own. The brutal murder of black people is considered a joke to white people anyway so I didn’t expect nothing from you all anyway. Derrick it’s no hope, they could care less

  18. fern says

    He has issued an apology:

“As a kid, I didn’t understand the power of certain words and how they can hurt. I thought it was okay to repeat hurtful words and jokes, but didn’t realize at the time that it wasn’t funny and that in fact my actions were continuing the ignorance.

Thanks to friends and family I learned from my mistakes and grew up and apologized for those wrongs. Now that these mistakes from the past have become public I need to apologize again to all those I have offended. I’m very sorry. I take my friendships with people of all cultures very seriously and I apologize for offending or hurting anyone with my childish and inexcusable mistake.

I was a kid then and I am a man now who knows my responsibility to the world and to not make that mistake again. Ignorance has no place in our society and I hope the sharing of my faults can prevent others from making the same mistake in the future. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to say but telling the truth is always what’s right.

Five years ago I made a reckless and immature mistake and I’m grateful to those close to me who helped me learn those lessons as a young man. Once again … I’m sorry.”

  19. fern says

I doubt he understood the meaning of the joke, which is on the surface anyway just about the sound of the words and a joke apparently originally told by Chris Rock. He’s apologized for something awful he said at 15. I hope his life isn’t ruined and him scapegoated because of it. Teenagers are stupid, and as he said, hopefully others learn from his mistake.

  20. Jacob says

But when a celebrity says something anti gay everybody here wants them fired but when a celeb says something racists oh it’s just a joke and excuse it away. Like I said posting a racist comment someone said will fall on deaf ears by the white gays and excused away. If Obama made the joke about gays they would want him to resign from office and say see how homophobic black people are.

  21. Mike Ward says

Has anyone ever addressed the epithet of “cracker” and “honky?” Should I get crazed if an African-American uses such language? Anyone remember some of Richard Pryor (RIP), and Chris Rock’s diatribes? I used to laugh right along with all the other honkies.

  22. NotSurprised says

Racism against white people in the West is a joke. It doesn’t exist.

Of course, the white commenters on this site dismiss Bieber’s actions, not as the product of systemic racist attitudes in our culture, but as “boys being boys.”

Again, white people are the worst.
