Anti-Gay, Anti-Islam Pastor Jody Hice Wins Georgia GOP Primary

Hice

We've mentioned Southern Baptist pastor Jody Hice once before, addressing his lunatic theory that gays as a community recruit and sodomize young children. Evidently the constituents in Georgia's 10th district not only don't have a problem with his lunacy but actually endorse it as Hice won the Republican primary, and will likely win the election this coming fall.

If he goes on to replace his predecessor Paul Broun, Republican congressmen are going to have quite the time trying to salvage what little they can of the GOP's pretty thoroughly wrecked image once Hice starts going on about how Islam doesn't deserve First Amendment protections and it's ok for women to enter politics so long as their husbands gives them permission.

  1. Sorry he won, but it will be another nail in the GOP's coffin.

  2. I've beem all excited about Michelle Nunn's lead in the senate race down in Georgia. And then I read about this KKK creature winning the Republican congressional nomination.

Well, it's just a reminder, I guess. Once you leave out of Atlanta, what have you got? Georgia.

  3. This is my congressional district. This man is a lunatic and plenty of us here know that. The district is totally gerrymandered as to negate the more liberal county I live in from having an impact on the election. The county I live in voted twice for Obama in the presidential election. And, no, once you leave Atlanta you don't just have crazy people in Georgia.

  4. not really Jack M

His district is extremely conservative. Though he could say something stupid enough to get national attention

  5. I am sure groups voting for him are celebrating now, but this will be the next step for gop to lose the elections. Who is celebrating then?

  6. @ SCOTT,

I was making a joke--not a very good one, but a joke. Most of my family is from the Valdosta area, so I'm not down on Georgia.

But I'll change my joke. What do you get when you leave outside of Atlanta? The middle of Pennsylvania.

'Cause everybody knows what lies between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh: ALABAMA.

  8. Why would we be excited about Michelle Nunn? Do we really want to bring back DADT?

  9. The time to let the local, state and national GOP know what they have nominated is now. The insiders know about him, but the rank-and-file probably do not. It is time to run clips from speeches everywhere.

You may not be able to prevent his election, but hobble him as soon as you can which means starting this week. You have to define him before he can even think about it.

    Its showtime folks.

  10. @ "Why would we be excited about Michelle Nunn? Do we really want to bring back DADT?"

Because her election would help to keep a
    Democratic majority in the senate.

And don't confuse Michelle's views with her daddy's.

A moderate Democrat is always better for Gay folks (and other minorities) than a conservative Republican.

  11. Ever notice the rightwing trolls never comment on stories like these. But if it was a liberal, or someone of color, they'd be right here filling the board up.

  12. Georgia.

  13. We need a huge Democratic Campaign. Just put billboards and commercials everywhere with the GOP "In their own words". Let everyone start to be shocked at what these people say and think. That is the way for a true Democratic takeover, just let the GOP hang itself.

  19. MERV, Michelle Nunn is a completely different person than Sam Nunn - but the former Senator has since changed his position and now says gays should be able to serve openly.

  20. Or, he could be another smarmy politician that doesn't believe a word he says. Take your pick.

  25. More GOP-Is-Doomed rubbish. Not unlike Matt Taibbi's "Smells Like Dead Elephants" that had as much relevance as an Obama speech. Thing is the Repubs are eating the Democrat's lunch,& wiping their collective bum w Obama, as they prepare to impeach him. The Republican Party calls the shots in DC as the "other side" merely strives to accommodate while it portrays itself as "the adult."
