Henry And George, Together Over 50 Years, Featured In New Ohio Marriage Equality Ad: VIDEO

OhioMarriage1

Henry Hawley and George Vassos were married in New York City last October, on their 50th anniversary. Their commitment to each other is not recognized in their home state of Ohio, though, and they are looking to create change. The adorable couple is featured in a new advertisement from Why Marriage Matters Ohio, and if their easy chemistry and clear adoration of one another does not convince you of love's universality, perhaps nothing will.

Check out Henry and George's testimony, AFTER THE JUMP...

And head over to the Why Marriage Matters Ohio website to make a contribution to the cause.

  1. Alright Henry & George. Congrats on getting married. Your FIFTY year relationship has lasted LONGER than quite a few heteros. That's showing 'em. And hopefully same sex marriage will be the law of the land within 5 years or less. We'll show the breeders how to REALLY be married.

  2. So where are the 50-year-old pictures of the young sweethearts?

  3. Congratulations Henry and George, your lives provide living proof to the lie that gay couples cannot have stable long-term relationships. Hang in there, it won't be long before your marriage is recognized in Ohio and all throughout United States.

  4. @ GLENN I:

You are a bitter human being.
I challenge you to find happiness.

  5. It is wonderful stories like this that I would like to see presented to the public as examples of what can and does occur EVERYDAY rather then so called comic television shows like B.B.C. sitcom "Vicious" which continue to propagate the stereotype of two vicious old queens. (The original title btw.) Was disappointed to see the considerable talents of Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi, (both gay actors) wasted in such a project. Is it surprising that gays everywhere now consider them as total sell outs?
