Ian McKellen And A Horde Of Hot Male Dancers Take On ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: VIDEO

In typically grandiose fashion, Sir Ian McKellen, in full Gandalf the Grey "You shall not pass!" voice, nominated Laura Linney, Derek Jacobi, and Anthony Hopkins to take on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Backed by at least fifty dancers from "Adventures in Motion Pictures" on a backlot, it'd be hard to turn down his request, especially once the always joyful Sir Ian douses himself and dances a little jig.

Check it out, AFTER THE JUMP...

  1. I was never sure I liked the series "Vicious". However I loved him and Derek Jacobi.

Back to the ice bucket challenge, my favorite dancer was the ginger.

  2. Sir Ian has to be one of the most awesome people anywhere.

  3. Loved Patrick Stewart's use of the ice bucket better. Originality gets bonus points in self promotion stunts. Just write your checks already, rich celebrities! All this challenge really needs is a few hundred thirsty African children watching this stupidity to raise awareness of safe, clean drinking water and then let's watch the checks come pouring in to ''. Where's Matt Damon when you need him?

  4. This ice bucket bullsh*t is absurd. It's degenerated into an excuse for selfies.

  5. I love Laura Linney, so talented, so pretty, so smart. But I would love her even more to see her dump cold water over herself. She could make it special I'm sure.

  6. Stuffed A - I think absurd is: beheading Christians, stoning gays, and politicians saying no to reasonable programs because another party suggested it. People coming together to raise money for research is not absurd. Self promotion is a necessary part of life. Selfies have been around for centuries. Even if you're bored with ice bucket challenge - think of the fads in the past that eventually became boring yet produced nothing positive. Ice bucket challenge forever - even beyond boredom.

  7. Nitpick:

Adventures in MOtion Pictures, the Matthew Bourne ballet company, technically doesn't exist anymore. There is a decedent Matthew Bourne company called New Adventures that continues to do Bourne's old and new works and is still basically the same group of dancers.
