For a limited time, you can check out The Wilding, a prize-winning short film, free of charge.

Made by Australian filmmaker Grant Scicluna (pictured below), The Wilding tells the story of Malcolm, a juvenile delinquent in love. The film won top honors at the 2012 Iris Prize Festival, a yearly LGBT short film event held in Cardiff, Wales. The Iris prize draws entrants from partner festivals in cities all over the globe: across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, and in Hong Kong. Scicluna_Grant.jpg-

The Wilding can be viewed AFTER THE JUMP...

The timing of this online screening coincides with a new creative effort by director Grant Scicluna, who will be starting production on a new film in September.

It's called Downriver, and it's a kind of sequel ("spiritual successor," maybe) to The Wilding. Scicluna crowdfunded the film via Pozible, and while he's already reached his goal, you can donate to the film for another four days.

Of Downriver, Scicluna says: "We believe there’s an audience hungry for strong, emotional, complex material. We need your help to raise the final portion of the budget to enable us to start production in September.”

  2. I don't know what the big deal is about same sex dancing. This weekend we went to GGPark to film Swing dancers and to my surprise my husband joined in. Altho he did not dance with another guy there were plenty of same-sex couples dancing and no one batted an eye. You can see the video by clicking my name below.

  5. Cary, every comment you leave on this site demands we go look at your youtube page. You're not contributing to the conversation; you're just shamelessly promoting yourself.
