Yesterday, we told you about rapper Azealia Banks’ violent temper tantrum that took place while she was attempting to exit a Delta flight. In a video of the incident, Banks is seen arguing with a flight attendant and a pilot presumably over her bag. Banks called the flight attendant a “f-kin’ faggot.”
After the incident, Banks took to Twitter to rant about the incident, alternating between different strains of thought to defend her actions and insisting she would only apologize to her fans who were sad to see her caught up in ‘drama.’
This is not Banks’ first time defending her use of the word “faggot.”

Banks posted the above picture on Twitter with the caption, “Here’s me on a plane waiting for another bitch ass flight attendant to try me. #AzealiaBanks #Brokewithexpensivetaste.” But that was hardly the extent of her thoughts on the incident and the backlash that ensued.
She first trotted out her own sexual identity and that of her friends and family to defend her behavior.
I am bisexual. my brother is trans. My employees are all gay men. . Nothing else to say.

Then there was this display of bravado.
The bitches throw shade cause they just can't take pic.twitter.com/FBT7S6QTCY
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 22, 2015
And an accusation that the incident was racially motivated.
Cause yall KNOW, that they would've politely handed a white woman her bags and a spritzer. #whatever
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 22, 2015
Which led her to unleash on sexuality, race and linguistics.
If America is so concerned with derogatory language, why do I not see even a quarter of this outrage when I use the word "NIGGER"????
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
America picks and chooses when it likes to be offended. And THAT is a major part of American culture that HAS to change.
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
So, under the American social rhetoric I am only allowed to degrade myself and others like me. Is that right ?
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
I really hope The collective white American conscience opens their eyes and learns to not be so afraid of blacks before they get breeded out
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
Like I hope one day you all can put your fears aside to gain a true clear understanding of the Magic that is Black America
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
So should I erase, fuck, shit, bitch, nigger, cunt from my vocabulary as well?
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
Let's just all simmer down!!! It's the American way yall! Let's have a Brew and get pre-outraged for tomorrow's dose of fake outrage !! ???
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
Then came the one apology Banks was willing to make.
I will make one apology. And it's to apologize to the feelings of the people who enjoy my music and hate seeing me in drama.
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
SRY to the FANS .but for everyone else… I'm real sorry that your that sensitive/prescriptivist/ N don't have #BWET in bumping in da crib!
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
I only OWE an apology to my fans. My true true ride or die fans. The rest of yall can pick up a rock and suck on it !!
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
Banks then defended her behavior by referencing her experience with abuse.
I've been a victim of domestic abuse before and I have a flight or fight reaction whenever men get in my face.
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
Before turning back to race and also gender.
And to be quite honest IM REALLY tired of the world trying to police the way black women should or shouldn't express themselves.
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
We aren't angry, we're fucking hurt. HURT HURT HURT .
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
But to admit that you are hurt is a display of vulnerability. But everytime I display it STILL get attacked.
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
And as for what you might think of her mentioning the fact that she’s bisexual to defend her behavior, she has this to add.
And trust, I don't say I'm bisexual to excuse my use of the F word. I say it to let you know that I lick pussy and tits and I like it (ctnd)
— AZEALIABANKS (@AZEALIABANKS) September 23, 2015
And I would NEVER judge someone based on what they like to do in the bedroom. WHEN I BE DOIN THE SAME SHIT ! LOL????????????
