Looking‘s Murray Bartlett has joined the cast of Nashville. He'll play the recurring character ‘Jakob Fine,' a very handsome, charismatic and successful men's fashion designer.
The out gay actor joins transgender actress Jen Richards on the show. Richards casting was announced earlier this week. “Richards (Her Story) will play a ‘tough but understanding physical therapist who helps a series regular through one of their most difficult challenges,'” according to EW, who adds that this is the first transgender character on the CMT network.

The show's fifth season kicks off with a two-hour premiere on January 5 on CMT, having aired on ABC for the first four seasons. Hulu will be streaming all episodes the day after they air. Nashville is executive produced by Marshall Herskovitz, Ed Zwick, Steve Buchanan and Callie Khouri. Jayson Dinsmore and Morgan Selzer executive produce for CMT.
