Donald Trump lashed out at Republicans on Friday morning, urging them to use the nuclear option of future legislation which would require a simple 51 vote majority rather than the 60 vote threshold.
Tweeted Trump: “If Republicans are going to pass great future legislation in the Senate, they must immediately go to a 51 vote majority, not senseless 60…”

…Even though parts of healthcare could pass at 51, some really good things need 60. So many great future bills & budgets need 60 votes….

Unfortunately, that's what they tried to do last night and failed anyway. Last night's vote on “skinny” repeal failed 51-49.
None of McConnell's healthcare proposals have gotten 50 votes.

1. Not one GOP healthcare proposal even got 50 votes.
2. McConnell has made it clear he has 0️⃣ interest in this. https://t.co/jospjNVqUQ— Garrett Haake (@GarrettHaake) July 28, 2017
