Last week I posted the cover of L'Actualite magazine featuring our favorite French Canadian diver Alexandre Despatie. Now, here are shots from the inside. Enjoy.

French Canadian diver Alexandre Despatie appears on the cover of L'Actualite magazine looking fitter than ever. He's ready to compete in the Olympics in Beijing.
You may remember that Despatie had a trial run at Beijing's Olympic "water cube" in February for the FINA World Cup.
Despatie made an appearance on L'Actualite four years ago as well, when he was headed to Athens. To see what a difference four years makes, check the cover out AFTER THE JUMP....

Alexandre Despatie Tests the Water Cube
Our favorite French-Canadian diver Alexandre Despatie looked sharp at the FINA World Cup at the aquatic facility they've dubbed the "water cube" which was built for the 2008 Olympics this summer.
Unfortunately, for Despatie, he finished a disappointing fifth in the competition. Said the diver: "I guess it's one of those days. The final was disappointing, but I guess the point of coming here was to dive in the Olympic pool, make sure we feel comfortable looking toward the Olympics and that is a point we managed to achieve."
Incidentally, the water cube, like Despatie, is a beautiful thing to behold.

Alexandre Despatie Makes a Splash in Vancouver
Canadian diver Alexandre Despatie continued to impress in his recovery from a neck injury that kept him off the diving platform for over a year, racking up two gold medals in the Pan Am Games trials at Vancouver Aquatic Centre over the weekend.
Winning or losing, Despatie's form is one that will no doubt continue to impress us in the future. One of the Canadian judges looked ready to congratulate Despatie with more than a medal, after the jump...

Alexandre Despatie Back in Winning Form

This one's for the Alexandre Despatie fans out there. The French-Canadian diver fetched the silver medal with his partner Arturo Miranda in the men's three-metre synchronized diving final at the world aquatics championships in Melbourne yesterday.
Despatie says he is fully recovered from a neck injury that kept him from competing for over a year.

In November, however, he was recovered enough to teach show gay Canadian Commentator Rick Mercer the way off the high platform.

Aquamen: Alexandre Despatie Scores Perfect 10 in Quebec

Despatie returned to the pool following a neck injury that has kept him from competition since May 2006. He took the gold medal last weekend after scoring a perfect ten and three additional 9.0s at the Canadian World Championship Trials.

And just for kicks, American Aaron Peirsol was showing fine form yesterday at the preliminaries at the 2007 Toyota Southern California Grand Prix of Swimming in Long Beach, California.

Hot for Teacher: Alexandre Despatie
I never pass up the opportunity to feature hot French Canadian diver Alexandre Despatie. Unfortunately, this diving lesson, given to CBC's Rick Mercer, is a bit small in size. Still, if there's anyone worth taking your first plunge for (or observing it on a tiny screen), it's Despatie.

Here's someone who has been absent from these pages for far too long. French Canadian diver Alexandre Despatie, in a tribute from Towleroad reader Alan Light, is one athlete we've been flipping over for a while.
