Daniel Radcliffe On His Gay Love Scene

Danielrad
Daniel Radcliffe portrays Allen Ginsburg in the upcoming gay-themed film Kill Your Darlings. Last night, the actor appeared on The Graham Norton Show and talked about the on set direction he received from director John Krokida while shooting a gay love scene.

"And the favorite note I have ever had was when we were kissing and the director shouted, ‘No, not like that. Crazy sex f***ing kissing!'"

Sounds we should expect quite the passionate scene in the movie. Watch the interview, AFTER THE JUMP. The bit about Kill Your Darlings comes in during the first minute or so of the clip.

Daniel Radcliffe Lets His Bush Grow Wild

Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe says he won't have to alter his grooming habits much for his new role as gay beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the upcoming film Kill Your Darlings:

"I've just been having a discussion with the guy who's directing my new project. It might have a bit of nudity and he said, 'Just to let you know, if you're getting naked, no landscaping of any kind. This is the 1940s.' I'm pretty much there anyway, mate! Not a huge amount of maintenance going on. I mean, there's a little bit, obviously, for courtesy...This is way too much information, but I don't like girls with nothing down there either. It kind of freaks me out. You have to have something, otherwise it's f—ing creepy."

Daniel Radcliffe to Play Allen Ginsberg in Gay-Themed Thriller: REPORT

RadcliffeDaniel Radcliffe may soon be playing gay beat poet Allen Ginsberg, Twitch Film reports:

Sources tell Twitch that once Radcliffe wraps up his Broadway run in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying he will move on to Kill Your Darlings with writer-director John Krokidas.

A thriller based on actual events, Kill Your Darlings revolves around the relationship between Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and Lucien Carr. Carr, for his part, is credited for connecting Ginsberg, Kerouac and William S Burroughs but, most notoriously, served time for the 1944 murder of his lover David Kammerer.

James Franco: I'm Not Gay and I Don't Smoke Pot

Franco

James Franco is about to hit the big screen again in the Allen Ginsberg biopic Howl, and The Advocate talks to him about why he so often plays gay:

Franco tells Benoit Denizet-Lewis it's because there are just so many straight love stories out there they get boring:

“In this history of cinema, there are so many heterosexual love stories. It’s so hammered, so done. It’s just not that interesting to me. It’s more interesting to me to play roles and relationships that haven’t been portrayed as often."

Denizet-Lewis also asks Franco about his own sexuality:

“Sure, I’d tell you if I was. I guess the reason I wouldn’t is because I’d be worried that it would hurt my career. I suppose that’s the reason one wouldn’t do that, right? But no, that wouldn’t be something that would deter me. I’m going to do projects that I want to do. Everyone thinks I’m a stoner, and some people think I’m gay because I’ve played these gay roles. That’s what people think, but it’s not true. I don’t smoke pot. I’m not gay…”

Peter Orlovsky, Poet and Partner of Allen Ginsberg, Dies

Orlovsky_ginsberg

Peter Orlovsky has died, the L.A. Times reports:

"Peter Orlovsky, longtime partner of Allen Ginsberg and a poet in his own right, died May 30 in Vermont of lung cancer. He was 76. Orlovsky met Ginsberg in San Francisco in 1954, before Ginsberg wrote his seminal poem, 'Howl.' Published in 1956, 'Howl' was the subject of a 1957 obscenity trial that became a landmark free-expression case. Afterward, Ginsberg and Orlovsky moved to Paris, where they stayed with Gregory Corso, William Burroughs and others in a boarding house that would become known as the Beat Hotel...Although they spent time apart, Ginsberg and Orlovsky's relationship endured for more than 30 years. Orlovsky's poetry was collected by City Lights Books in 1977; three of those poems are online. His papers are at the Harry Ransom Center in Texas."

Below, James Franco as Ginsberg and Aaron Tveit as Orlovsky in the forthcoming Ginsberg biopic, Howl.
