Fantasia Barrino's Anti-Gay Remarks Ruined Her Week: 'Middle Finger Up to Those Who Seak (Sic) to Destroy Me'

Rant_fantasia

Former American Idol contestant Fantasia Barrino, whose remarks about gay marriage and The Bible made headlines last week, took to Instagram once again to express her anger (see the image she posted, above).

Said Barrino: "My whole team is gay, my manager is gay, middle finger up to those who seak (sic) to destroy me. It won't work."

Said Barrino in her original posting: "I Rise ABOVE IT ALL!!! THE WORLD IS GONE MAD. KIDS, THE GOVERNMENT THE church House… Everybody Trying!!!!!!! Its a lot that going on that the Bible speaks about we should Not be doing. Weed legal in some places, Gay Marriage Legal BUT YET IM JUDGED!!! I'm not doing Nothing for you… My Life!!!!"

She later released a personal statement, saying "I don't want to be judged."

Fantasia: Instagram Gay Nups Jibe 'Taken Far Out Of Context'

BarrinoFantasia Barrino's PR team claims the singer's comment about marriage equality being an example of a world gone mad were "taken far out of context":

Comments made by Ms. Barrino through her Intragram account were recently taken far out of context, and the purpose of this release is to set the record straight. Ms. Barrino is not now, nor has she ever been an opponent of the LGBT community. She has supported and performed at numerous events that are sponsored by the LGBT community.

Whether it’s through a live performance or placement on social media, Ms. Barrino uses every opportunity to reach out and connect with her fans, all of her fans.

Supporting an abstract community and supporting specific equal rights are not necessarily the same thing, mind you.

'World Is Gone Mad,' Says Fantasia Barrino About Gay Nups, Weed

Fantasia

Fantasia Barrino, the singer made famous by winning the third season of American Idol, took to Instagram to tell the world that she is completely confused as to why marriage equality and weed are legal in some places yet she's still being "judged".

Judged by whom? An invisible jury? Ghosts of American Idol contestants past? Some omniscient being that goes like only one name? Cher?! Who knows?! But Fantasia is certain she's being judged and she doesn't like it at all. She thinks that judgmental shade should be thrown at the people legally getting married and legally smoking dope.

Yes, life is full of mysteries and Instagram is full of deep thoughts; just not on Fantasia Barrino's feed.
