Bryan Fischer: The Poor Should Be 'Kissing The Ground' On Which The Rich Walk - VIDEO

Screen Shot 2014-04-16 at 3.21.27 PM

American Family Association spokeshater Bryan Fischer, responding to a recent Wall Street Journal article reporting that the top 1% of Americans account for nearly 30% of all federal tax revenue, had this to say on his radio program:

So rather than the poor, the low-income, and the middle class being resentful of [the rich], they should be kissing the ground on which they walk. Who’s paying for the EBT cards? Who’s paying for food stamps? Who’s paying for the women and infant children program? Who’s paying for subsidized housing? Who’s paying for Medicaid? It is the top 1% So they ought to be given ticker tape parades once a week in all of our major cities to thank them for funding welfare for everybody.

Bryan Fischer Says Modern Family Is 'Poison'

And not just "poison," but also "harmful" and "lethal."

The head of the American Family Association was being interviewed by conservative talk radio host Kevin Miller last week when he made the comments.

While discussing Modern Family, they pointed out that the show portrays the gay couple in a positive light and the heterosexual couples in a less flattering light - implying that the show is actually anti-heterosexual.

A transcript of their conversation is below, courtsey of Right Wing Watch:

TSM_KevinMillerMiller: One of the most popular shows on television, "Modern Family," and you have the guy from "Married With Children" who is married to a young, attractive Latina woman with a kid from another marriage. You've got the heterosexual couple with the stereotypical family; they're the most challenged or, dare we say, the most screwed-up. And then we have the same-sex male family where we have a man and man in a loving, committed relationship that just doesn't have any, any problems. And apparently the promotion on ABC has allowed this show to be very popular and it does impact people and you have good Christians who turn the other cheek, who don't want to be labeled as intolerant and yet, they don't want these values on the airwaves.

6a00d8341c730253ef017eea2df434970dFischer: What's illustrated there is way that the media influences the way that people think about life. The portrait there that's being presented is designed to make you think that same-sex households are wonderful, they're loving, this is paradise, this is the optimum nurturing environment for children; to make you think that heterosexual marriage is bondage, it's dreary, it's gloomy, and we know that the social research indicates exactly the opposite.

You know, that's the danger. It's just like getting a little bit of poison over a long period of time, eventually getting enough accumulation in there where it can be kind of lethal to the organism. And I think that's what you're seeing with a lot of this programming. It has to do with kind of the basic view of morality and marriage and life and family that people have. It's very corrosive; people are just watching TV to be entertained, not realizing that their view of life is being twisted in a way that's very harmful to them and harmful to our culture.

Anti-Gay American Evangelicals Depicted as the Hateful Cartoon Characters They Are: VIDEO

Homophobes

Political cartoonist Mark Fiore calls out anti-gay hatemongers Bryan FischerScott Lively, Tony Perkins and Rick Warren for playing ignorant after encouraging Uganda to pass its horrendous law which penalizes LGBT people with life imprisonment.

Fiore writes:

"Since Uganda's anti-gay law was signed recently, it's been amusing (and maddening) to watch various religious right characters scurry for cover. When nobody was watching, the holier-than-thou set have been visiting Uganda preaching their extreme anti-gay views. Now that people are appalled at Uganda's life-in-prison-for-homosexuals law, the "evangelical" right-wing preachers are laying low or rewriting history."

And if you enjoy this video, you'll love Fiore's takes on Arizona’s discrimination licenseRepublicans love gay marriage and straights who have been injured by gay marriage.

AFA’s Bryan Fischer: There is a Reason God Hasn't Killed Bill Maher — VIDEO

Screen Shot 2014-03-18 at 11.07.04 AM

Bill Maher has made a lucrative career out of pointing out the flaws of religious dogma, but last week's episode of Real Time may take the cake for the most epic anti-religious rant he's delivered yet.

Screen Shot 2014-03-18 at 11.08.05 AMOn his "New Rules" segment Friday, Maher called God a "psychotic mass murderer" and declared that the U.S. is a "stupid country" because 60% of Americans believe the Bible's story of Noah and the Ark to be literally true. He went on to criticize conservatives for complaining about restrictions and regulations while voluntarily inventing religious rules. Joked Maher: "Isn't life hard enough without making shit up out of thin air to fuck with yourself?"

Needless to say, this didn't sit well with American Family Association spokeshater Bryan Fisher, who dedicated a segment of his radio show on Monday defending the story of Noah's Ark and explaining why God hasn't struck down Maher yet.

Said Fisher:

God has given [Maher] that gift, the gift of free will, the gift of judgment, the gift of discernment, this enormously precious gift of being able to make decisions for our own lives. And so now Bill Maher is using that for profane and blasphemous purposes. There’s absolutely only one reason why Bill Maher draws another single breath and that is because God is merciful, God is compassionate…why does God allow Bill Maher to go on these blasphemous rants? Because he is waiting for Bill Maher to come to the place of repentance.

I have a feeling God might be waiting on that for a while...

Bryan Fischer Wants Homosexuality Criminalized Because He Loves Black Males: VIDEO

Bryan Fischer

Straight from the horse's mouth:

Let me put it bluntly: If you are for the legalization of homosexuality, you are for the acceptability of homosexuality, you are for the normalization of homosexuality, you do not care about black males. You have no compassion in your black heart for black males because they're being decimated by HIV/AIDS ... So why am I opposed to the normalization of homosexual behavior? Because I love black males. I want black males to live long, prosperous, healthy, disease-free lives.

This is, of course, completely wrong as HIV transmission rates have very little to do with the normalization or legality of homosexuality. Much more influential are the systemic equalities in place that disproportionately affect black men and women and are more likely to leave them with lower education on sexual issues, a mistrust of medical professionals, and poverty that results in reduced access to insurance and thus medical care. And this isn't even scratching the surface of other issues such as religion, attitudes of masculinity, and drug abuse, all of which can be entangled in the same knotty web that can't simply be solved by hating the gays harder.

Bryan Fischer Welcomes Hateful Anti-Gay Michigan RNC Committeeman Dave Agema: VIDEO

Screen Shot 2014-01-31 at 9.16.37 AM

In most situations and settings, it’s difficult for someone else to overshadow American Family Association spokeshater Bryan Fischer in terms of anti-gay bigotry. But Fischer had some stiff competition on his show yesterday when joined by embattled Michigan RNC Committeeman Dave Agema, who is under intense pressure from Republican Party officials to resign for his laundry list of virulently anti-gay and anti-Muslim statements.

Quick to play the victimization card, Agema detailed how he was being persecuted like Ducky Dyansty's Phil Robertson and boxing champ Evander Holyfield for telling the truth about homosexual behavior. Right Wing Watch reports that Agema also reiterated his vow to not resign from the RNC and become a victim of “political correctness.”

"Political correctness is taking the place of freedom of speech," Agema told Fischer. "And if you look at what's happened just here in the news media and particularly in Hollywood in the Grammys, they are just shoving this stuff down our throats and very few people are speaking up. And if you do speak up, you can expect to be slammed, and that's exactly what they call it, slamming and jamming, what they're doing to me right now"

The (separated at birth?) duo also discussed the methods the Republican Party would need to employ in order to oust Agema from his position.
