Mr. Sandman Bring Me a Dream, and Make it Chad White

Chad White rolls in the sand in the new issue of L'Officiel Hommes #12 (which also features Garrett Neff) in a spread called "Solaire" by photographer and stylist Milan Vukmirovic. Kind of appropriate for this blistering heat we've been having on the east coast.

Anglican school council in Australia formally endorses ban on bringing same-sex partners to the school formal: "Up to eight students had wanted to take boyfriends and raised the issue with a senior staff member, who passed the request to Churchie headmaster Jonathan Hensman. At the time Mr Hensman said it was not appropriate for students to take a same-sex partner because escorting a young woman to a formal was part of the boys' education. But after reports in The Courier-Mail Mr Hensman referred the matter to the school council. A brief statement posted on the Churchie website yesterday said the council 'strongly supported the headmaster's position on the school's education programs in social settings'."

Chad White: The Doll You Can Dress Up
Haven't done a Chad White post in a while, so here's to filling that void. Like a Ken doll, Chad can be dressed up any way you want, and apparently the designers at Milan fashion week know that too.
From left to right, top to bottom - Sailor Chad from Jean-Paul Gaultier, Soldier Chad from John Galliano, 70's track star Chad and Auto Racer Chad from DSquared2.
And finally, Rock Star Chad from Gaultier and Hamptons Chad from Bottega Veneta.
A few of these designers have really been popping their Village People pills.

Or perhaps they're photographer Francois Rousseau's fantasies. Rousseau takes model of the moment Chad White bareback in the next issue of Out.
Let's just hope he puts that riding crop to good use.
As White moves toward complete print domination, he's also featured in new ads from Diesel and American Eagle. And yes, that may be the first time we've ever seen a smile.
Daniel Radcliffe is currently starring in Equus on the London stage. He will reportedly be replaced by Billy Elliot actor Jamie Bell. Radcliffe is set to reprise his role on Broadway. As of yet, Mr. White has not been recruited.
If you'll remember, Francois Rousseau shot the first Dieux du Stade calendar. Check out his website here.

Fashion Notes: It's a Jungle Out There

From photographer Nick Knight and designer John Galliano come a tribe of ski-masked, underwear-clad "Gods and Monsters" in the latest issue of Arena Homme + which elaborate on the look model Chad White worked (or didn't work) on the runway in Paris in January. These fashion savages are much more successful in their presentation.

Dolce & Gabbana appear to think leopard is the "pre-fall" look, especially if you're planning to go watch Chad White spin around in a gyroscope.

And the New York Times takes a look at the phenomenon of novelty underwear: "...for decades the butt of jokes and the joke of butts, (novelty underwear) has, in the last two to three years, turned into a serious business, capturing a significant share of the $1.1 billion men’s knit-underwear (that is, excluding boxers) market. In all their goofy glory, briefs in bright colors, zany prints, new materials and daring cuts are undermining the classic white brief’s long-held status as king of the hill. In 2006, white’s share of the market dipped below 50 percent for the first time in decades, if not ever."

Chad White "Honored" to Have Gay Fans

Model Chad White (a favorite here at Towleroad) appeared on the runway in Milan for gay twin designers Dsquared2 (Dan and Dean Caten) holding a black baseball bat. An interesting choice, considering White's love of the sport. In addition to saying he's "honored" by his gay fanbase, in a recent interview with OhLaLa Paris, White talks of his sports background:
"Baseball is a hard subject for me to discuss. I miss it, since I was young enough to remember I'd always been dreaming of being a baseball player. As I was going through high school I was a standout. Have you ever felt that you were meant to do something... Baseball was that feeling for me. Turns out different but I felt that there was no stopping me to become pro. I had some really influential ex pros behind me believing in me also. So my dream to play in Yankee Stadium seemed just fingertips away. Then one game I was pitching and I overthrew a pitch and tore something in my elbow. I balled [sic] my eyes out for days. My dream was gone."
At least he can live it out on the runway.

Chad White retains his title as Dolce & Gabbana's muse of the moment in their new ad for assorted heavy metal bling. I'm not sure what the taxidermied animal heads have to do with it, but on the other hand we wouldn't mind seeing White "mounted" as well.

Chad White Brings all the Boys to the Yard
It's Fashion Week in New York and an embarrassment of riches if what you're looking for are handsome male models, but since we've made note of him here before, I thought I'd point out that designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains tipped their hat to model of the moment Chad White at the Heatherette show yesterday. White strutted down the runway in a gold crucifix, a modified Panama hat, and a pair of pajama bottoms (and is that some kind of milkshake)?

Chad White and Steven Klein Do Swimwear

When Steven Klein's not shooting Madonna, he's often shooting male models like the latest sensation Chad White, whom he recently shot for a 45-page editorial in L'Uomo Vogue. Chad recently caught everyone's attention in the Bebe ad he shot with Mischa Barton.
This is a continuation of the swimsuit thread we've been following all week. Enjoy.

Chad W. and Nick Lachey: The Pin-up Boys

Remember the scene stealer from the Mischa Barton BeBe ad I posted about earlier this week? Trent over at Pink is the New Blog did some investigating and found out his name is Chad W. from Major Models. It looks as though Chad is not like a lot of male models who won't dare pose for the cover of a gay magazine. Here he is on the cover of the UK's ReFresh and France's Tetu. More at Pink.
And speaking of models who look like they should be on the cover of a gay magazine, take a look at Nick Lachey's latest photoshoot for Wenner Media. The top shot is from Rolling Stone.

When I saw this issue of Us at the supermarket I had to do a double-take to make sure they weren't selling Unzipped at the register.
