Catholic League President and general blowhard Bill Donohue faced off against Chris Cuomo this morning about Arizona's anti-gay bill and measures like it that would discriminate against gays based on religious beliefs.
“Where are the examples of gays being discriminated against? If they’re being discriminated against, how come they make more money than straight people on average?...Is somebody being denied at Applebee’s getting a hamburger? Where are these examples of gay people being persecuted?”
“That's the exact right question. But it's the reverse! Can you point out a business that was made a substantial burden religiously because of what they had to do vis-a-vis a gay person?”
Cuomo and Donohue then went on to tear into one another about marriage after Donohue said:
"The gold standard is a father and a mother creating a family. That's what was ordained by nature and nature's God. Have you noticed anatomically there's a goodness of fit between a man and a woman?"
