Cindy McCain Petitions John McCain to Support ENDA

MccainAn HRC organizer nabbed Cindy McCain at a Staples in Phoenix, and got her to sign a petition on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), and send it to her husband, the Washington Post reports:

Arizona is a key state, since activists are targeting both McCain and his fellow Republican Sen. Jeff Flake; McCain has opposed the bill in the past, while Flake has not voted on the issue since taking office in January...

...At the moment, it does not appear that Cindy McCain has changed her husband's mind. In an e-mail, McCain's spokesman Brian Rogers wrote, "Senator McCain enjoys and appreciates having discussions on the important issues of the day with all the members of his family, and he respects their views."

Some bigots are really hard to turn.

Snooki

Clips and interviews from this week's TrevorLIVE event for The Trevor Project featuring Snooki and JWoww, Jane Lynch, and Cyndi McCain, held at NYC's Chelsea Piers.

Said Snooki: "Me and Jenni weren't exactly the best role models, but now that I'm a mom, I'm so grateful for The Trevor Project to support the LGBT youth so they have someone there for them because I'm praying I have a gay little boy one day."

Cindy McCain to Appear in Phoenix Production of Dustin Lance Black's Play About the Prop. 8 Trial

Cindy McCAin is set to appear in a Phoenix production of 8, Dustin Lance Black's play dramatizing California's Proposition 8 trial produced by the Arizona Theatre Co. and former Tempe mayor Neil Giuliano, Phoenix Business Journal reports:

MccainNicole Stanton — the wife of Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and an attorney at the commercial law firm Quarles & Brady LLP — is also scheduled to appear in the play on May 7, along with well-known attorney Grant Woods, media personality Pat McMahon and Phoenix City Councilman Tom Simplot. Simplot is also CEO of the Arizona Multihousing Association real estate group.

Neither McCain’s Senate office nor Hensley responded to requests for comment. The Republican senator has said in the past that he and his wife, as well as his outspoken daughter Meghan McCain, have differing views on gay marriage. Cindy and Meghan McCain appeared in “No on Prop. 8” advertisements in 2008.

McCain and Stanton are going to play Prop 8 plaintiffs Kris Perry and Sandra Stier.

Cindy McCain Talks Kirk Cameron, Says He's Not a Bigot: VIDEO

Mccain

Cindy McCain, a NoH8 campaign supporter who oddly supports her husband's discriminatory position on 'DADT' and recently said that the media is to blame for the GOP's anti-gay image, tells Piers Morgan that she "strongly disagrees" with Kirk Cameron but says he shouldn't be labeled a bigot.

Cindy McCain Says Media to Blame for GOP's Anti-Gay Image: VIDEO

Mccain

Before the Republican debate on Wednesday, Cindy McCain sat down with CNN and blamed the media for painting a picture of the GOP that makes them look anti-gay, Think Progress LGBT reports.

"I think the media portrays that. I think being a Republican, being part of the party for — as many years as I have and knowing the Republicans the way I do that is not the case and that’s not the bulk of Republicans that believe in that, at all. The vocal ones, maybe the ones that are on the far right side of the issue, but I — certainly in the state of Arizona – we are open-minded Republicans and believe in equality for all."

Cindy And Meghan McCain Appear In New NOH8 Photos

CindyMeghanNoH8

Cindy and Meghan McCain are upping the ante in their support for equal rights.

After first appearing individually in the NOH8 campaign two years ago, the mother and daughter duo sat for new shots, including one together, for activists Adam Bouska and Jeff Parshley's star-studded movement.

Above you see their dual shot, and their other new images can be seen over at the NOH8 campaign website. Will these latest photos persuade Eric Cantor's wife to join the cause? I seriously doubt it.
