Ariana Grande will headline NYC Pride's 29th annual Dance on the Pier, organizers announced today, joining a host of famous female alumni that have taken the main-stage at NYC Pride.

Said Chris Frederick, Managing Director of NYC Pride: "With the rich history of this event involving artists such as the late Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Hudson, Cher, Demi Lovato and more, we think Ariana will be the perfect fit [for NYC Pride 2015]."

Grande, whose brother Frankie is gay, has been an outspoken advocate and ally for the LGBT community, notoriously destroying an Instagram troll who made hateful remarks against her brother during his tenure on Big Brother

Also joining Grande at NYC Pride this year will be Tituss Burgess (aka Titus Adromedon of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt fame), Parade Grand Marshalls Sir Ian McKellen, Sir Derek Jacobi, J. Christopher Neal, and Kasha Jacqueline Nabagesera, out country singer Steve Grand, Adore Delano of RuPaul's Drag Race and Wade Davis, former NFL player and current Executive Director of the You Can Play Project, among others.

Ian McKellen And Derek Jacobi Want You To Have A 'Vicious' Christmas: VIDEO

Vicious

Just in time for the holiday comes the Vicious Christmas special set to air tomorrow on most PBS stations here in the States. The show stars Sir Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi and follows English thespians Freddie and Stuart, an older gay couple embroiled in a decades-long love/hate relationship. While season 2 has yet to debut state-side, we at least get to revel in their deliciously acrimonious celebration of Christmas. From Slate:

The episode partakes in the British tradition of bringing back beloved TV shows for a fun visit during the holiday season. Appropriately, the story depicts a Christmas party in the couple’s London flat that goes awry once the bubbles get going and gal-pal Violet (played by the wonderful Frances de la Tour) initiates a game of “Truth or Dare.”

Watch the trailer, AFTER THE JUMP...and remember to set your DVR so you can watch when your yuletide celebrations are becoming a little too bright and gay.

Ian McKellen's 'Vicious' Premiering On PBS Tonight: VIDEO

Vicious_S1_Ep01_003.jpg__640x360_q85Vicious, a British ITV sitcom starring out gay actors Sirs Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi, is finally making its widespread US debut on PBS tonight. Originally entitled Vicious Old Queens, the show features the two knighted thespians as Freddie and Stuart, an older gay couple embroiled in a decades-long love/hate relationship.

A deviation from other contemporary programming aimed at LGBT audiences like Modern Family, Looking, or True Blood, Vicious is more or less a return to the traditional Brit-com formula, relying on cheeky innuendo and absurdly high-brow casting decisions. Vicious premieres on local PBS affiliates across the country tonight at 10:30 P.M. EST.

Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi Play a Bickering Gay Couple in 'Vicious' New British Sitcom: VIDEO

Mckellen

British actors Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi star in a new sitcom from British network ITV premiering this month. The sitcom is called Vicious and the actors play a bickering gay couple who have been together for 48 years, according to the Hollywood Reporter:

“It's strictly coincidence that this issue is happening in the world,” says Gary Janetti, the U.S. writer who created Vicious. “But I think whenever the issue of gay marriage comes up the first couples that get married are these people that have been together 50 years, and you see these two women and these two men in their 80s. And I defy anybody not to be moved by that.”

Gary Reich, the managing director of Brown Eyed Boy, which is producing the show together with fellow Shine Group shingle Kudos Film, admits the timing of Vicious is particularly prescient. During the taping of the second episode in the six-part first season earlier this year, the British Parliament -- located directly across the Thames river from ITV's studios -- were voting to give same sex couples in Britain equal status under the law.

The show is no niche special either. It's being aired in primetime. It has not been sold for distribution in the U.S. yet.
