Cyndi Lauper Rips Racist Donald Trump for Anti-Gay Remarks, Hideous Buildings, Sh*t-Stirring

Cyndi Lauper, whose new musical Kinky Boots is set to open on Broadway next month, talks to Next magazine about its development, and also her True Colors Fund, which advocates on behalf of LGBT homeless youth.

LauperShe also takes a shot at her former Apprentice "boss" Donald Trump:

"I’m not going to kiss ass with somebody like that...I felt that what he said about the gay community was disappointing because a lot of gay people work for him. It’s just sad. I thought he could have done better for his country than just go to the lowest common denominator and stir up the crap. It’s our country, it’s not wrestling. If you try and make our president fail, it doesn’t matter who he is, you make our country fail. And if you really are a patriot, if you really give a sh*t about our country, you don’t do stuff like that. First of all, you’re an entertainer, and you make ugly buildings, and you’re famous for it. And you have a reality show with very high ratings. Don’t step into the forum like that. Become educated with facts. Don’t just be a sh*t-stirrer. Our country is in trouble and he keeps wanting to make [Obama] fail. Let’s call a spade a spade. The guy’s a black man and that’s your issue? What kind of idiot are you? Come on.”

Donald Trump Still Doesn't Want Gays to Marry: VIDEO

Stern_trump

Donald Trump appeared on the Howard Stern show yesterday and revealed that despite his lunch with George Takei last December, he still hasn't evolved on a certain issue.

Says Stern: "You're for gay marriage."

Replies Trump. "Well, I'm not...It's not an argument that you know I wanna really, cause it's never been an argument that's been discussed with me that much. People know it's not my thing one way or the other..."

Donald Trump Sues Bill Maher for $5 Million for Proving He's Not the Spawn of an Orangutan: VIDEO

Trump

Donald Trump has filed suit against Bill Maher for $5 million, the Washington Post reports:

Last month, Maher told Jay Leno he’d give $5 million to Trump’s charity of choice if the businessman could prove he’s not “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.”

Trump sent his birth certificate listing Fred Trump as his father — and now wants Maher to pay up. “He promised me $5 million for charity if I provided certain information,” Trump told “Fox & Friends” Monday. “Well, I provided the information. He didn’t pay. So today I sue Bill Maher for $5 million for charity.”

The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday; Trump’s lawyer didn’t return our call.

George Takei Talks About His Lunch Date with Donald Trump: VIDEO

Roberts_takei

Actor George Takei sat down with Thomas Roberts today to talk about his lunch date with Donald Trump in which he discussed Trump's vocal opposition to marriage equality. Takei said that he believes Trump is evolving on the issue.

Roberts and Takei also talked about Justice Scalia's recent statements comparing sodomy to murder.

Said Takei: "First of all that statement was a repugnant statement. Any Justice who has so little thought before he speaks should not be participating in ruling on the cases involving DOMA or Proposition 8."

Donald Trump Attended Gay Wedding and Found it 'Beautiful', He Tells George Takei During Lunch Date

Trump_takei

Donald Trump lunched with George Takei yesterday, according to a note on Takei's Facebook page.

Writes the Star Trek legend:

Friends, I had lunch with Donald Trump today at the Trump Tower Grill. It was a lively and engaging hour-long conversation that touched upon his personal position on marriage equality. He confided that he recently attended a same-sex wedding and that he'd found it "beautiful."

I remarked that NY is now a marriage-equality state, and that after all, marriage is better for business! Minds are changing across America, and I am always ready to speak to those ready to listen. I hope that my chat with The Don might have some effect on his stance on the subject.

Good work, Mr. Sulu.

No word on whether this was the lunch that Trump had promised Takei back in May, when Takei said:

“I want to listen to what his concerns are," the gay, married actor said today. "I respect people’s right to their faith…However, we’re talking about civil law as opposed to religious law, and how religious faith or value should be written into a law that effects everyone.”

Explaining why he wants to sit down with Trump, Takei said, "He is an influential person. He effects the thinking of a lot of people…I think he’s an open minded fair minded person and certainly a savvy businessman."

Donald Trump Fires Back at Petition Calling for Macy's to Dump Him, Starts Twitter War with Cher

Yesterday I reported that a petition urging Macy's to dump Donald Trump had gathered nearly a half million signatures. Currently as of this posting, the number of signatures is up to 558,707.

TrumpWrite the petition's creators:

Donald Trump does not reflect the "magic of Macy's." We urge you to sever ties with him. Macy's says it has a strong obligation to be "socially responsible" and that "actions speak louder than words." Indeed. It's time to act.

Macy's has a special deal with Donald Trump. They invest in developing Trump's brand and sell his clothing line and fragrance at their locations. To this end, they have had major events at Macy's Herald Square location and they often feature and promote Trump in advertisements designed to celebrate the magic of Macy's. Recently, Macy's CEO Terry Lundgren sent Donald Trump a letter touting how excited Macy's was to be working with Trump and promising to expand Trump's brand even further than it already is. But, why is Macy's celebrating Trump?

Trump's spokesman is firing back at the petition's creator:

“What I find incredulous is that the creator of the petition is protecting his First Amendment right to free speech while simultaneously trying to impede upon Mr. Trump’s,” Michael Cohen, executive vice president and special counsel to Trump, told Celebuzz. “It’s ironic.”

“I question the legitimacy and accuracy of the website and the number of signatures claimed to have joined this petition,” he added. “Regardless, The Trump Organization values its longstanding relationship with Macy’s and looks forward to many more years of continued success.”

CherAnd Cher has entered the fray:

One of his critics is Cher, who tweeted on Monday, “I’ll NEVER GO TO MACY’S AGAIN ! I didnt know they sold Donald Trump’s Line! If they don’t care that they sell products from a LOUDMOUTH RACIST CRETIN,WHO’D LIE LIKE “HIS RUG”TO GET SOME CHEAP PRESS ! I CANT BELIEVE MACY’S THINKS HE’S THE RIGHT “MAN” 2 REPRESENT THEIR NAME!”

Needless to say, the feud-loving Trump struck back.

On Tuesday, he wrote to Cher, “I don’t wear a “rug”—it’s mine. And I promise not to talk about your massive plastic surgeries that didn’t work.”

Trump added, “It’s amazing how people can talk about me but I’m not allowed to talk about them.”
