Evan Rachel Wood Says She's Bisexual

Evan Rachel Wood, who you may have seen recently in HBO's Mildred Piercetells Esquire that she's bisexual:

EvanrachelwoodThis is the third such hint in the conversation, after that androgyny comment and saying she'd "marry" her Mildred Pierce costar Kate Winslet if she could.

You date women?

"Yes," she says proudly, as if she was waiting to be asked.

Do you look for different things in men than in women?

"Yeah, I'm more kind of like the guy when it comes to girls. I'm the dominant one." It's with women, she says, that her inner North Carolina gentleman comes out: "I'm opening the doors, I'm buying dinner. Yeah, I'm romantic."

Wood was previously engaged to Marilyn Manson. She's the second female star of True Blood (with Anna Paquin) to come out of the closet about her bisexuality.

Watch: Trailer for Todd Haynes' Remake of 'Mildred Pierce'

Mildred_pierce

Here's the first trailer for HBO's upcoming miniseries remake of the 1945 gay fave Mildred Pierce, starring Kate Winslet as the working class mother originated by Joan Crawford. Evan Rachel Wood plays the daughter. Hopefully Wood can rise out of her True Blood malaise, though it's hard to imagine Crawford's sharp portrayal being bettered, even by a veteran like Winslet.

The miniseries is directed by Todd Haynes, which offers a glimmer of hope.

True Blood's Evan Rachel Wood on Vampires: They Swing Both Ways

Evanrachelwood

E!'s Marc Malkin talked with Evan Rachel Wood about her True Blood character Queen Sophie-Anne, who viewers got a peek at in the final scene of last week's show.

Says Wood: "She's not necessarily a lesbian. Her human partner is a girl, but I'm pretty sure she goes both ways [laughs]. I think vampires are like that in general...I don't know if I am having sex with anyone yet, but I certainly have a steamy scene with someone that I don't think you'd really expect. So it will be a little fun."
