George Clooney's Not Gay, But Did Have Botox on His Nuts

In the April 2008 issue of Esquire, George Clooney is taken on a tour of various websites which gossip about him, territory which proves ripe for commentary.
Clooney is asked about a site called "George Clooney is GAY, GAY, GAY". When asked about those rumors, Clooney responds, "No, I'm Gay, Gay. The third gay — that was pushing it."
Later in the interview, however, he does say that in a hypothetical girl-on-girl situation with Brad Pitt, he'd explore his homosexual side.
Said Clooney: "Well, you know, if I was a girl and he was a girl, and I was a lesbian and he was a lesbian, I'd be all over him."
Because a guy-on-guy situation, that's just sort of too far into triple-Gay territory.
Clooney also responds to comments made once by actor Rupert Everett to The Independent. Said Everett: "Clooney thinks that, provided he does films which are politically committed, he's allowed to do Ocean's 11, 12, and 13. But the Ocean's movies are a cancer to world culture. They're destroying us."
Responds Clooney: "You kind of go, dude, weren't you in Dunston Checks In?"
Finally, Clooney joked he's never had plastic surgery, except in one area:
"I did get my balls done, though. I got them unwrinkled. It's the new thing in Hollywood — ball ironing."
Clooney also shows up muddy in the new edition of T Men's Fashion magazine in the New York Times.

Steve Carell Puts Out for George Clooney

Is there any Hollywood leading man that can resist the charms of George Clooney?
While we're familiar with his men's room rendezvous with Brad Pitt and his ongoing love affair with Matt Damon, and his obvious flirtations with Fabio, CBS News on LOGO's Itay Hod worked the Oscar red carpet and discovered that Clooney and Steve Carell also have a past.
When Hod encountered Carell on the red carpet, Carell said, "I saw George Clooney a couple moments ago. My heart palpitated."
Moments later Clooney explained Carell's weakness: "He can say that because I was with him one drunken evening, and he puts out."
By George, pretty soon folks might start believing him!

At the October 12 American Cinemateque tribute to Julia Roberts, George Clooney sent in a special video message from a men's restroom. Mid-message he was interrupted by — a toe-tapper.

Fabio and George Clooney's West Hollywood Catfight

Not enough room in the restaurant for two, wildly different, 'icons' of romance entertainment. I posted about it briefly yesterday. Here, via TMZ, is the photo that started it all.
And more bird-flipping from Annie Lennox. I tend to believe she had a good reason. But hasn't the world turned into an angry place?

Judge sees evidence that Rita Cosby "crossed the line" in evidence gathering for her Anna nicole book which alleges a gay relationship between Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead: "A federal judge in the Southern District of New York issued an order today in the wake of Stern's allegation that Cosby 'sought to tamper with two witnesses by offering to pay them thousands of dollars for their testimony.' The judge allowed Stern to probe the allegation, concluding he has 'presented substantial -- indeed troubling -- evidence that Cosby has sought to improperly influence witnesses...' In a statement to TMZ, Rita Cosby said 'I am pleased that the Court will get to the bottom of these unfounded allegations. I trust that when all the facts come out that a very different picture will be shown.'"

Pat Robertson endorses Rudy Giuliani. Talking Points Memo: "...the Robertson endorsement Rudy Giuliani bagged today is perhaps the ultimate fusion of right-wing religious extremism and war on terror mania. Giuliani's claim to the presidency is based on his service as mayor during and immediately after 9/11. What stops him from being a shoe-in for the nomination is his track record supporting abortion rights and gay rights. But, Robertson is on record saying that 9/11 was America's punishment for its sinful gay-loving, abortion permitting culture. As Robertson says on his website, the attacks happened because God withdrew his protection from America. He agreed with the late Jerry Falwell that America "deserved" 9/11."

Matt Damon Jokes That George Clooney is Gay

Even more Matt Damon for you. Though joking, Damon apparently spends a good amount of time thinking about man-on-man action. Monsters and Critics reports on his ongoing obsession with George Clooney's sexuality: "George is gay. Everybody knows that. But honestly, I never realised he was gay - even when he was b***ing me off!"

Saving Laguna Beach's Boom Boom Room: PR and Prayers
Laguna Beach resident Fred Karger talks to the L.A. Times' Dana Parsons about his battle to save the coastal resort town's bastion of gay nightlife, the historic Boom Boom Room bar and Coast Hotel.
If you remember, Karger recently took an ad out in Variety pleading with George Clooney and Brad Pitt, once rumored to be interested in the property, to help 'Save the Boom'.
As a former public relations man, Karger knew what kind of publicity that might get his cause.
Said Karger: "It worked beyond my wildest dreams about getting attention. And that was without any reaction from them. It got a lot of attention. That was my hope, by invoking their names. There are still a lot of people who think they bought it, and this was to kind of further that rumor a little bit and have fun with it. These guys, they kind of kid each other...Brad Pitt is the one who has said he won't get married until everyone can...It was all done humorously. And the ad, which I wrote, was tongue-in-cheek, meant to get their attention and, bottom line, to find a new buyer [for the Boom Boom property]."
Karger's plan just may be working. On Save the Boom's blog, Karger writes "The ad has triggered an outpouring of support and interest in our efforts to find a buyer who will keep the historic Coast Inn and the landmark Boom Boom Room as gay businesses...we have received many calls and emails from potential buyers and press from the UK, Asia, Italy, Canada and throughout the U.S. We have meetings coming up, and have put some of the serious buyers in direct contact with the property owner."
It can be a blast trying to save a Boom [la times]

Laguna's "Boom Boom" Boys Go Straight To Pitt and Clooney
As Ocean's 13 stars Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Matt Damon left their hand and footprints in cement at Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood yesterday, a group of Laguna Beach activists hoping to get their attention stood by with signs pleading with Pitt and Clooney to help save Laguna's historic Boom Boom Room property.
The action was a follow-up to the recent Daily Variety ad taken out by Laguna Beach resident Fred Karger and Mayor Bob Gentry asking the actors, once thought to be interested in buying the property, to reconsider.
Said the ad: "Now we are appealing to both of you to buy our 60-year-old landmark before it is converted into a boutique hotel...Both of you are true leaders in human and civil rights. Over 100 years of gay history that the Boom represents is a stake in Laguna Beach."
Efforts to save the Boom Boom Room have been underway since June 2006 when it was purchased by Steven F. Udvar-Hazy. After collecting approximately 6,000 signatures from area residents and supporters, the property was saved last August when Udvar-Hazy offered a one-year lease. That lease comes up in September.
Karger reports that at the Mann's demonstration, "Brad and George both gave us the old’ 'thumbs up' when they walked by the demonstration. We got lots of media coverage and did several radio and television interviews."

News: Thomas Roberts, Painful Body Wax, Darfur
George Clooney begs UN for end to genocide in Darfur: "Now, my job is to come here today and to beg you, on behalf of the millions of people who will die — and make no mistake they will die — for you to take real and effective measures to put an end to this. Of course it’s complex, but when you see entire villages raped and killed, wells poisoned and then filled with the bodies of its villagers, then all complexities disappear and it comes down to simply right and wrong."

CNN Anchor Thomas Roberts, who recently came out at the National Gay and Lesbian Journalists Association Conference in Miami, told AfterElton that his coming out had nothing to do with the reshuffling of anchor positions at CNN, and offered some advice for young journalists (and others) struggling with the process of coming out: "There are all kinds of fears we accumulate through high school, college, even going back as far as grade school, that are carried into the adult years. That fear can really hold you back. It (coming out) has to be when people feel… they are ready for it. It's hard to live afraid…. Hopefully, everyone, gay or straight, journalists or doctors or otherwise, can overcome that obstacle, because it stands in the way of you being the best you can be, with your job, with your family, with everything, and not have to be afraid anymore."
