John Mayer: 'If You Are a Man in Life and You Haven't Gone to a Gay Bar, You Haven't Really Danced'

Mayer

In an interview with The 7pm Project, John Mayer discusses his outing to a Palm Springs gay bar, after which Radar Online reported that he had been kissed by a man, "and seemed to enjoy it."

Says Mayer: “If you are a man in life and you haven’t gone to a gay bar, you haven’t really danced. Because you’re talking about a bar full of men without that dumb, alpha-male, ego, pushing, shouldering… you can actually have a great time without worrying in this sort of alpha-dog defensive position of like, who's over here, who's gonna try and come up, and who's gonna talk shit, and who's gonna do this and do that. You can actually just go and have a great time. We did have such a great time, to hear that somebody had written a story that I was getting kisses planted on me, it just sort of reduces it to that real stereotypical...you know that's why I wrote, after that I was like nobody's more aggressive than drunk white chicks. They're terrible.”

John Mayer: I Went to a Gay Bar, But I Did Not Kiss a Dude

Johnmayer

John Mayer explained on Twitter that he wanted to clear up the recent Palm Springs gay kiss story because he didn't like the fact that it painted a picture of gays unable to control themselves. He also says he did not engage in an enjoyable lip-lock with a male patron.

Palm Springs Club Cheers as John Mayer Seems to Enjoy Gay Kiss

Bisexual notes from the desert:

Mayer "Notorious womanizer John took a step over to the other side on Saturday when he stopped by Toucan’s Tiki Lounge, a popular gay club in Palm Springs. And according to an eyewitness there was more than just drinking and dancing going on – John even made out with a guy! John was having a great time at the club, going wild to The Black Eyed Peas 'I Gotta Feeling' - being the center of attention as he downed beer and toasted his fellow revelers, men and girls alike. But the jaw dropper was when, according to an eyewitness, a fellow male patron approached John and planted a big kiss right on his lips – and John seemed to enjoy it! The eyewitness says that that was when the whole place erupted and cheered."
