Family Research Council Official Ken Blackwell Links Eliot Rodger Mass Shootings to Gay Marriage: AUDIO

Ken Blackwell, a senior fellow at the Family Research Council, linked the Eliot Rodger shootings near Santa Barbara to gay marriage, Right Wing Watch reports:

BlackwellSpeaking with FRC president Tony Perkins on “Washington Watch,” Blackwell blamed the shooting on “the crumbling of the moral foundation of the country” and “the attack on natural marriage and the family.”

“When these fundamental institutions are attacked and destroyed and weakened and abandoned, you get what we are now seeing,” Blackwell said, arguing that people who are “blaming the Second Amendment” are “avoiding talking about what is at the root cause of the problem.”

FOX News: A Gay Man in Virginia Was Named Prom Queen Because He Was Indoctrinated by Sesame Street

Blackwell

Sean Hannity invited former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell to a nutty panel about liberal bias on children's programming. Blackwell, as I've noted before when he was running for chair of the RNC, believes "homosexuality is a compulsion that can be contained, repressed or changed."

Blackwell pulls out the story that has freaked him out the most recently — that a gay student in Virginia was crowned Prom Queen last week — and tries to argue that it happened because Sesame Street has a liberal bias and somehow indoctrinated him at an early age.

Ohio Gubernatorial Candidate Blackwell: Gays Can Change

BlackwellKeith Boykin points us to some rather, well, unenlightened comments from Ken Blackwell, a Republican candidate for Governor of Ohio.

"I think homosexuality is a lifestyle, it's a choice, and that lifestyle can be changed. I think it is a transgression against God's law, God's will. The reality is, again...that I think we make choices all the time. And I think you make good choices and bad choices in terms of lifestyle. Our expectation is that one's genetic makeup might make one more inclined to be an arsonist or might make one more inclined to be a kleptomaniac. Do I think that they can be changed? Yes."

Not surprisingly, Blackwell is also against gay marriage and proud of the fact that gay marriage helped get George Bush re-elected. His family probably never had a gay either.
