Kevin Spacey, Photobomber
If you're out in Boston, watch out:
"So yesterday in Boston my friend got photobombed by Kevin Spacey out jogging...Apparently he jogged up, shouted 'PHOTOBOMB!' and then ran off laughing. Excellent."

Did you watch the White House Correspondents' Dinner? If not, you missed President Obama make quips about himself (“I’m not the strapping young Muslim Socialist that I used to be") and Conan O'Brien put the jokes aside for a brief moment and thank the President for visiting Boston (his hometown) following this month's attacks in that city.
You can watch both Obama's full 20-minute set and O'Brien's near 30-minute routine AFTER THE JUMP.
Also AFTER THE JUMP are two other clips which played during the dinner; one of Steven Spielberg's fictionalized film entitled Obama and a well conceptualized, yet protracted House of Cards spoof featuring Kevin Spacey and a slew of politicians.

Zachary Quinto in "Margin Call"

NOW PLAYING
Will you get out this weekend and support newly out Zachary Quinto who stars in MARGIN CALL? Vote with your wallets! Eventually out gay actors headlining movies won't be a big deal at all but it has to start somewhere and it needs to start soon. (Imagine how great it would be to see Cheyenne Jackson, Jonathan Groff and whoever comes out next getting the supersizing their careers deserve?) MARGIN CALL was just nominated for a Gotham Award for Best Ensemble and also stars Kevin Spac... oops, does he cancel 'out' the voting with your wallets? Never mind!
The must-see movie of the weekend is the indie drama MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE (pictured left). It's about a girl who escapes from a cult in New York's Catskills. It's just fantastic and Elizabeth Olsen -- yes, she's the baby sister of the infamous Olsen Twins -- may be heading towards a Best Actress Oscar nomination. In an atypical way it's a perfect film for Halloween. It has none of the cheapness of a typical "scary" movie but it's incredibly menacing and uncomfortably sticky; you'll still be haunted by it weeks later.
Also Opening: The imaginatively titled PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 has also arrived if you'd like a third round. It seems likely to make a mint again since, as a wise woman recently wrote:
"Whether they’re “good” or “bad” is irrelevant—what matters is that they’re effective. You could make the case that they’re monotonous on purpose—they know they have a Pavlovian audience that’s trained to scare on cue. You could make the case that they’re monotonous on purpose—they know they have a Pavlovian audience that’s trained to scare on cue."
Finally, Alexander Dumas's legendary story THE THREE MUSKETEERS which is no silver screen virgin gets the deluxe 3D remake rethink reboot. It's already been memorably jabbed by critics "more dumbass than Dumas" and its studio (Summit) has been jabbed by Milla Jovovich (the leading lady and the director's wife) who thinks they haven't promoted it enough.
BONUS SCENES
If you grew up loving The Muppets (and who between, say, 30 and 50 didn't?) will you be horrified or charmed by the new MUPPETS movie? Has a backlash already begun?

Kevin Spacey hangs with The Social Network boys at the NBR Party in New York.
...would live in the movie theater but for the poor internet reception. He blogs daily at the Film Experience. Follow him on Twitter @nathanielr.
NOW PLAYING
In January it's never about what's in the theater, unless maybe you've been eagerly awaiting that already infamous but probably totally mild gay "joke" in Ron Howard's THE DILEMMA or a chance to see Seth Rogen slimmed down for THE GREEN HORNET. Instead January is all about which movies are representing on the telly by way of awards shows. A few non-televised events have already happened. This week the New York Film Critics Circle met to honor The Kids Are All Right and The Social Network in multiple categories and the National Board of Review met to honor as many studios -- er, films-- as possible. They like to spread the awards wealth.
Up top this post you see Kevin Spacey laughing with Armie Hammer ("The Winklevi" in The Social Network). Do you think Spacey was asking Hammer about playing Leonardo DiCaprio's lover in the upcoming Clint Eastwood movie J. Edgar? The man to the far left is Dana Brunetti, the president of Spacey's production company Trigger Street. You'll be seeing the Social Network cast (but particularly Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg) at every event since they're nominated for everything. The praise is so hyperbolic that even director David Fincher seems annoyed, telling W Magazine.
I hate the awards part of the moviemaking process. And besides, on Social Network, I didn’t really agree with the critics’ praise. It interested me that Social Network was about friendships that dissolved through this thing that promised friendships, but I didn’t think we were ripping the lid off anything... Let’s hope we strove to get at something interesting, but Social Network is not earth-shattering.
I'm glad David Fincher doesn't really talk about his earth-shattering Madonna videos (Vogue, Express Yourself, Oh Father, Bad Girl) because it's better to pretend that he acknowledges them as masterpieces, don't you think?
BONUS SCENES
Is Andrew Garfield mentioned in every one of these movie article? Don't answer. I swear I'm not that obsessed. (A little bit, sure)
See the first full official photo of him in his Spider-Wear AFTER THE JUMP...

In a new interview in the Daily Beast, Kevin Sessums grills Kevin Spacey about rumors he is gay. Spacey says he never discusses it because he "(has) not given up (his) right to privacy."
He also calls those who condemn the bullying of gay teens hypocrites for not also condemning the outing of celebrities.
Says Spacey:
"I think what we have seen in terms of gay teenagers committing suicide because of bullying is anguishing. I think young people, if they are feeling like they are confused, need to know that there are people to talk to and that there are places they can go and not feel alone. But I feel that they have just as many rights as I do to not be bullied. And I don't understand people who say, 'Well, this is a terrible thing that is happening to this young person whose life is being exposed,' and then turn around and do it to another person. People have different reasons for the way they live their lives. You cannot put everyone's reasons in the same box. It's just a line I've never crossed and never will."
Spacey also promises Sessums he'll do an "It Gets Better" video, and says that kids who bully use the media's bullying of celebrities as a role model:
"...why is it in this country that kids might think it's okay to bully and make fun of somebody? I'll tell you why, because what do they see in the media happening all the time? In the media they seem to think that's okay. So if we stop using sexuality as a weapon against people maybe everyone will eventually get cool with it."
Ultimately, Spacey says that allowing people to know his sexuality is allowing people into his private life, and he won't do it.
"I don't live a lie. You have to understand that people who choose not to discuss their personal lives are not living a lie. That is a presumption that people jump to," he tells Sessums. "I am different than some people would like me to be. I just don't buy into that the personal can be political. I just think that's horseshit. No one's personal life is in the public interest. It's gossip, bottom line. End of story. Now some people feed that. They'll go to the trendy restaurants where all the photographers are and then bitch about being famous. But if you don't want to feed that and you want your life to be based around what your work is then it ends there."
