Las Vegas Tourism Authority Celebrates 9th Circuit Decision: 'Vegas Just Got More Fabulous' - PHOTO

No doubt posted in response to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals' ruling yesterday striking down same-sex marriage bans in both Nevada and Idaho, the Las vegas Convention and Tourism Authority took to their Facebook page to celebrate the expansion of equality. The group posted the above photo of the iconic "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, modified with a hint of rainbow and captioned with, "Vegas just got more fabulous."

Now that marriage equality seems to be back on in the Silver State, Las Vegas does seem to be looking a little more fabulous after all.

From what we can tell, the blurry video seems open to interpretation and most likely just shows Niall trying to talk to a friend in a loud club. Still, the Vine will no doubt keep the hopes of many a fanboy and girl alive and well.

Michael Sam and Boyfriend Partied in Vegas After Draft

(twitter mrsjones_nyc)

St. Louis Ram Michael Sam and his boyfriend partied in Vegas at the Venetian following the NFL draft, the Las Vegas Sun reports:

Boyfriend Vito Cammisano, who swam competitively for the University of Missouri, joined Sam, a defensive end from the college who was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round Saturday and was congratulated by President Obama.

A group of 10, including Sam’s agent and friends, were on hand as Sam was surprised with a presentation from Tao and a shout-out from DJ Vice. Sam spotted Richard Sherman of the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks at a nearby table, and the two athletes chatted for a few minutes.

Sam and Cammisano later headed to the DJ booth, where Vice stopped the music to introduce and congratulate the newly signed pro.

The NY Daily News has more on Cammisano:

Cammisano, a communications major, came out to fellow swimmers in 2011, Mizzou’s student newspaper reported.

“He’s been a pleasant, pleasant boy all his life,” Cammisano’s aunt, Cathy Nigro, said of her nephew.

“I was very proud of them both,” Nigro said of the kiss. “I think the whole family is.”

Nigro said she’s met Sam, liked him very much and called him “a great athlete.”

Cammisano’s Facebook page says he attended Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Mo., and worked as an assistant in the University of Missouri’s office of disability services. It says he works as an intern at a large radio station operator.

Woman Throws Shoe at Hillary Clinton During Vegas Speech: VIDEO

A woman was arrested on Thursday after throwing a shoe at Hillary Clinton during a speech at a metal recycling convention in Las Vegas. The shoe missed, but Clinton was quick to react after initially thinking the object was a bat.

"Is that somebody throwing something at me? Is that part of Cirque de Soleil? My goodness I didn't know solid waste management was so controversial. Thank goodness she didn’t play softball like I did.”

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports:

The U.S. Secret Service confirmed the protester had sneaked into the convention and wasn’t associated with the group. The convention organizers said she was initially denied access to the ballroom, but later rushed past security.

“The subject was not a ticketed guest and had eluded hotel security to enter the event,” said Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie.

Secret Service agents noticed the woman and as they and hotel security approached her she threw a shoe. The women then turned around, threw her hands into the air and began marching toward the back of the room. The woman was immediately taken into custody by Secret Service and hotel security, Ogilvie said.
