George W. Bush Shares His Paintings with Hillary Clinton on Air Force One: PHOTO

On the way back from the Mandela memorial, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Attorney General Eric Holder,  National Security Advisor Susan Rice, and Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett were treated to an iPad showing of George W. Bush's paintings.

George W. Bush is beginning to try and shape his legacy. The opening of his presidential library is today in Dallas. He did a Nightline segment last night in which he spoke about the recent bombings and their relationship with the terrorist attack that happened under his watch. He also spoke about his paintings (“It may reflect my precocious nature, me painting myself in a bathtub.") and encouraged his brother Jeb to run for President.

Marriage Equality Coalition Removes Laura Bush from Ad, is 'Sorry She Didn't Want to Be Included': VIDEO

The Respect for Marriage Coalition has honored a request from Former First Lady Laura Bush to have an interview clip in which she expressed support for same-sex marriage rights be removed from a marriage equality ad the group began running earlier this week, Politico reports:

“We used public comments for this ad from American leaders who have expressed support for civil marriage,” the group said. “We appreciate Mrs. Bush’s previous comments but are sorry she didn’t want to be included in an ad. The ad launched a public education campaign that will now move to new and different voices that reflect the depth and breadth of our support.”

The new ad features a Republican former Marine, Craig Stowell, speaking about how he came to support gay marriage after learning his brother was gay.

Laura Bush Requests Removal from Marriage Equality Ad: VIDEO

Former First Lady Laura Bush has asked the Respect for Marriage Coalition (spearheaded by HRC and Freedom to Marry) to remove her from a new ad which is the centerpiece of a $1 million media campaign in support of marriage equality, the Dallas Morning News reports:

RfmcThe advertising blitz, first reported by Politico, features a clip of Bush talking to Larry King on CNN in 2010 and saying, “When couples are committed to each other and love each other then they ought to have the same sort of rights that everyone has.”

But Bush spokeswoman Anne MacDonald said in a statement Wednesday that the former first lady “did not approve of her inclusion in this advertisement nor is she associated with the group that made the ad in any way.”

“When she became aware of the advertisement last night, we requested that the group remove her from it,” MacDonald said.

The ads began airing Wednesday on cable.

The full-page newspaper ad (right, inset) which began running in major newspapers including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post , also features Mrs. Bush's quote and image.

Dick Cheney, Laura Bush, Colin Powell Voice Support for Marriage Equality in New Ad: VIDEO

The Respect for Marriage Coalition (chaired by HRC and Freedom to Marry) is set to launch a $1 million media campaign in support of marriage equality, Politico reports.

It features a TV spot narrated with key quotes from President Obama as well as news clips of Republicans Laura Bush, Dick Cheney, and Colin Powell voicing their support for marriage equality. It will air on cable and Sunday morning political shows and be accompanied with a print campaign in national newspapers,
