Sex-Obsessed Ugandan Pastor Martin Ssempa Faces Off with Brave Trans Activist: VIDEO

Ssempa

Ugandan pastor Martin Ssempa (many of you will recall his "Eat Da Poo Poo"sermon) appeared on Ugandan television's Morning Breeze with trans activist Pepe Onziema and launched into a vitriolic rant about the various ways gays reportedly have sex (with bananas and other objects).

After being attacked by Ssempa, Onziema tells the moderator: "Society has not rejected me...It is the propaganda of the likes of Ssempa. My family loves me as I am."

Ssempa goes on to call Onziema a "hooligan" and attacks the host for allowing him to share the stage.

Update: Uganda's 'Kill the Gays' Bill Still Pending, Protest Planned

Ugandabill

Here's an update to yesterday's post on the possible imminent passage of Uganda's anti-homosexuality bill.

Jim Burroway at Box Turtle Bulletin has an update on the bill and the timing under which it might be considered.

Burroway notes that while bills listed under "business to follow" often sit under that category for months before they are considered. He also notes that tomorrow, May 11, is not only the last scheduled day of parliament, but also a day in which Uganda's opposition leader returns from a trip to Kenya where he was treated for injuries sustained by Ugandan security forces during a peaceful protest.

Burroway wonders if the bill might be addressed as a diversion from the rioting and domestic strife taking place in the country over corruption, and food and fuel prices.

Ssempa The BBC reports that Pastor Martin "Eat Da Poo Poo" Ssempa has called for the death penalty to be removed from the bill:

But according to AP news agency, MP David Bahati, who proposed the legislation, last month said that the death penalty "was something we have moved away from".

Pastor Ssempa also rejected this clause but nevertheless urged the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee to back the bill. "The parliament should be given the opportunity to discuss and pass the bill, because homosexuality is killing our society," AP news agency quotes him as telling the MPs.

Activist group GetEQUAL is holding a protest today at 4-6 p.m. at the Ugandan Embassy, 5911 15th Street NW in Washington, D.C.

If you can’t make it to the protest in person, you can call, write, and/or fax the Ugandan Ambassador to the United States. Please be polite, but firm. The contact information is:

Listen: Pastor Martin Ssempa's Filthy Anthem - 'Eat Da Poo Poo'

Ssempa2

I've posted several times about Ugandan pastor Martin Ssempa and his attempts to scare up support for the Ugandan "kill the gays" bill by showing screenings of graphic gay pornography in churches and community meeting places, accompanied by sickening narration from Ssempa himself.

Jake Benson, the youTuber behind "I'm Going Crazy" created a remix of Ssempa's filthy rhetoric. It's probably a bit much before breakfast, and if you're easily offended I'd advise you to skip this post. It's probably not SFW.

You can see Ssempa's intense anti-gay ministry, which the clip is based on, HERE.

Thousands March In Cape Town Gay Pride Parade

Southafrica
Yesterday, thousands of people marched in the streets of Cape Town during that city's annual gay pride parade. The participants called attention to the homophobia and oppression gays and lesbians face in Africa. As has been reported here in the past, a "kill the gays" bill has been introduced in Uganda and two men in Malawai were imprisoned last year for marrying in a symbolic wedding last

Activists to Meet with Ugandan Parliament as 450,000 Signature Online Petition Opposing 'Kill the Gays' Bill is Delivered

Uganda

An online petition organized by activist group Avaaz and bearing the names of more than 450,000 people opposed to Uganda's anti-homosexuality bill has been delivered to parliament in that African nation, the BBC reports:

"The campaign is being led by Anglican priest Canon Gideon Byamugisha and he has been joined by HIV/Aids activists and civic organisations. Campaign group Avaaz, which organised the online petition, hopes to get one million signatures. However BBC East Africa correspondent Will Ross says the fact that the vast majority of the signatures were from outside Uganda is significant, as the MPs would be more likely to take notice of Ugandan rather than international opposition to the bill."

You can add your name to the petition here.

In addition to the delivery of the petition, there will be a meeting: "Church leaders, human rights activists and AIDS service providers will meet with the Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, Rt. Hon. Edward Ssekandi Kiwanuka in Kampala on Monday to petition against the Anti-Homosexuality Bill that would imprison and execute gay Ugandans and impose fines and jail sentences on family members and confidents."

Also, here's the blog reported to belong to gay porn pastor Martin Ssempa. Ssempa condemns te activist group and calls on parliament to throw the "sodomy gang" out

"We kindly ask that you throw Gideon and his petition out of parliament so he can go back and see if he can bring 500,000 Ugandan signatures. We guarantee he cannot even get 500 signatures of Ugandans! We the Ugandan voters who elected our MPs are the ones who are demanding that you make a law to protect our children from Sodomy. The majority of Ugandans are united on one thing, Sodomy is not a human right but a human vice and we need the bill to protect our children!"

UPDATE: Petition delivered!
