The first trailer for Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin's steve jobs/ has been released, giving us a first glimpse of Michael Fassbender as the eccentric Apple co-founder who passed in October 2011.
The Guardian reports:
The German-Irish actor is seen in full briefly at the end of the trailer, receiving applause from the crowd at a product launch – expected to be the 1998 unveiling of the first iMac. Other than that, we only see him in profile from behind as audio from the film plays out.
“You can’t write code. You are not an engineer. What do you do?,” asks Seth Rogen’s Steve Wozniak, incredulously. Replies Jobs: “The musicians play the instruments. I play the orchestra … I sat in a garage and invented the future … Because artists lead and hacks ask for a show of hands.”
The part of Jobs had previously been eyed by George Clooney, Chirstian Bale, and Leonardo Dicaprio. The film stars Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels and arrives in theaters October 9.
