Oklahoma Lawmaker Sally Kern Says Homosexuality a Daily Threat Worse Than Terrorism: VIDEO

Sally Kern sat down with Peter (Porno Pete) LaBarbera of 'Americans for Truth About Homosexuality' to promote her new book, The Stoning of Sally Kern, and returned to her favorite assertion that gays are worse for America than terrorists, Right Wing Watch reports.

Said Kern:

You know if you just look at it in practical terms, which has destroyed and ended the life of more people? Terrorism attack here in America or HIV/AIDS? In the last twenty years, fifteen to twenty years, we’ve had maybe three terrorist attacks on our soil with a little over 5,000 people regrettably losing their lives. In the same time frame, there have been hundreds of thousands who have died because of having AIDS. So which one’s the biggest threat? And you know, every day our young people, adults too, but especially our young people, are bombarded at school, in movies, in music, on TV, in the mall, in magazines, they’re bombarded with ‘homosexuality is normal and natural.’ It’s something they have to deal with every day. Fortunately we don’t have to deal with a terrorist attack every day, and that’s what I mean.

IRS Revokes Tax-Exempt Status of Peter LaBarbera's Anti-Gay Hate Group 'Americans for Truth About Homosexuality'

Peter (aka "Porno Pete") LaBarbera's hate group Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) has had its tax-exempt status revoked, according to Ex-Gay Watch:

According to the IRS, the tax-exempt status of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) was revoked on 5/10/2010 (PDF). The reason for this action is listed by the reporting organization Guidestar as a “failure to file a Form 990, 990-EZ, 990-N, or 990-PF for 3 consecutive years.”  These forms are required of legitimate non-profit organizations for review by the IRS and the public.

While the current incarnation of AFTAH appears to have been active since 2006, we found only one form 990-EZ on file — for the year 2009 (PDF).  In this, total receipts are listed as $110.000, out of which Peter LaBarbera received a salary of $75,000.  For perspective, this is approximately the same salary plus benefits claimed by Exodus president Alan Chambers.  Exodus lists eleven employees and a million dollar budget.

According to the IRS documentation on revocations (PDF), AFTAH can no longer be considered a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, and there is no process for appeal.

Anti-Gay Protesters Rally Against Civil Unions In Illinois

Just ahead the Illinois civil unions law that goes into effect on Wednesday, anti-gay protesters in Chicago yesterday marched in support of their belief that the issue should go before voters in that state. "Porno Pete" LaBarbera, whose hateful group Americans for Truth is headquartered in the state, was in attendance and spoke to the Chicago Tribune:

“There’s a battle between gay rights and religious freedom,” said Peter LaBarbera, president of the group Americans for Truth, as he coached people on how to correctly complete the signature sheets on which opponents hope to collect the required 300,000 signatures. “We want to give Illinois votes the same opportunity other states have had.”

Gay rights activists showed up for a counter rally that emerged through a Facebook campaign.

Governor Pat Quinn will be attendance on Wednesday when 30 same-sex couples take part in a civil unions ceremony at Millennium Park.

'Porno Pete' LaBarbera Does Not Want Barney Frank Giving Him a Pat-Down at the Airport

Wingnut Peter LaBarbera (aka 'Porno' Pete) of the Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), is concerned about same-sex TSA patdowns:

Homeland Security Sec. Janet Napolitano went out of her way yesterday to stress that the TSA pat-downs are "same-gender" -- mostly to reassure women that men will not be groping them at airports in the name of safety.

"But what about homosexual TSA agents?" AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera responded. "Isn't it just as inappropriate for a 'gay' male TSA agent to pat down male travelers as it is for a normal, heterosexual male TSA agent to pat down female travelers?

"The reality is, most traveling men would not want Barney Frank to pat them down at the airport security checkpoint," LaBarbera said. "Neither would it be fair to assign Ellen DeGeneres to pat down female travelers. (In the same vein, the Army should no more force normal male soldiers to shower and bunk with homosexual male soldiers than it would force females soldiers to bunk and shower with their male counterparts.)"
