Right-wing Extremist Benham Twins Closing In On New TV Deal: VIDEO

Screen Shot 2014-05-10 at 9.33.10 AM

David and Jason Benham, the would-be HGTV hosts whose show was canceled this week by the network after Right Wing Watch wrote a lengthy post about their family's anti-gay, anti-choice, and anti-Muslim extremism, are reportedly in discussions to bring their show to another network.

The brothers spoke with Eric Bolling yesterday on The O’Reilly Factor about their thoughts on being dumped by HGTV and revealed they already have a few new network offers for their show.

FAITH_DRIVEN_CONSUMER_LOGO_TMThe Hollywood Reporter adds that the brothers are working on the alternative plans with help from Faith Driven Consumer, the advocacy group that played a big role in drumming up support for Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson after his own anti-gay remarks led to a (temporary) suspension from his hit A&E show.

“We are brokering a possible deal between them and their show and an alternative network to HGTV,” said Faith Driven Consumer founder Chris Stone, who declined to say which network the brothers are in discussions with. “Whether it’s HGTV or the network we’re talking about, we want to see them on TV.”

The group has launched a petition drive in support of the Behnams that so far boasts over 12,000 signatures.

Right-Wing Extremist Benham Twins Hit CNN to Complain That HGTV Was Bullied into Dumping Them: VIDEO

Anti-Gay, anti-Choice, and anti-Muslim extremists David and Jason Benham appeared on CNN yesterday to discuss the cancellation of their show and said they believed HGBT was "bullied" into dumping them:

"We love all people. I love homosexuals. I love Islam, Muslims, and my brother and I would never discriminate. Never have we -- never would we," said David Benham. "Never have I ever spoken against homosexuals, as individuals, and gone against them. I speak about an agenda. And that's really what the point of this is -- is that there is an agenda that is seeking to silence the voices of men and women of faith."

Benham Bros on HGTV Cancellation: 'Anyone Who Suggests We Hate Homosexuals...is Misinformed or Lying'

Benhams

David and Jason Benham, the would-be HGTV hosts whose show was canceled yesterday by the network after Right Wing Watch wrote a lengthy post about their family's anti-gay, anti-choice, and anti-Muslim extremism, have released a statement posted by USA Today.

Said the brothers:

"The first and last thought on our minds as we begin and end each day is; have we shined Christ's light today? Our faith is the fundamental calling in our lives, and the centerpiece of who we are. As Christians we are called to love our fellow man. Anyone who suggests that we hate homosexuals or people of other faiths is either misinformed or lying. Over the last decade, we've sold thousands of homes with the guiding principle of producing value and breathing life into each family that has crossed our path, and we do not, nor will we ever discriminate against people who do not share our views...

...We were saddened to hear HGTV's decision. With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals. If our faith costs us a television show then so be it."

In related news, Jeremy Hooper makes note that some have said that David Benham is disconnected from Operation Save America. Not true.

HGTV Cancels Show After Stars Revealed to Be Anti-Gay, Anti-Abortion, Anti-Muslim Extremists

Benhams

HGTV today tweeted that it "has decided not to move forward" with a new house-flipping show called Flip It Forward starring David and Jason Benham. The network's move comes one day after Right Wing Watch wrote a lengthy post exposing the Benham family's extreme anti-gay activism.

Wrote RWW in the post:

What the announcement didn't mention is that at least one of the Benhams is not just a real estate dealer but also a dedicated right-wing activist in the mold of his father, Flip Benham, who has headed the abortion-clinic protest group Operation Save America ever since it split from the militant anti-choice group Operation Rescue.

As leader of OSA, [Flip] Benham has condemned the interfaith Sandy Hook memorial, protested in front of mosques while shouting “Jesus Hates Muslims” and blamed the Aurora shooting on the Democratic Party, which he said promotes a “culture of death.”

He has also protested LGBT pride events, interrupted church services during a sermon by “sodomite Episcopalian bishop” Gene Robinson and was found “guilty of stalking a Charlotte abortion doctor after passing out hundreds of ‘wanted’ posters with the physician's name and photo on it.” Benham even blamed the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on abortion rights.

Also:

Flip's son, David Benham, led a prayer rally — Charlotte 7:14 — outside of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2012, which he told conservative radio host Janet Mefferd was needed to stop “homosexuality and its agenda that is attacking the nation” and “demonic ideologies tak[ing] our universities and our public school systems”

...David also discussed his work to pass North Carolina’s Amendment One, which enshrined a ban on same-sex marriage and civil unions in the state constitution.

Apparently HGTV had not done their homework on the Benhams.

'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Star Porsha Williams Apologizes For Anti-Gay Sermon

Williams

Porsha Williams, one of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta — who recently went to jail after brawling with another housewife during the show’s reunion episode — has apologized for a three-year-old sermon in which she lists homosexuality alongside other “inequities” like prostitution, drug dealing and attempted suicide.

Porsha_williamsIn the video taken from High Praise Christian Center Ministries in Lithonia, Georgia, Williams said:

“God was gonna send his son, his holy son — don’t take that for granted. How many of y’all would just give somebody your son, or your daughter? But he did that for us. And he did that because of our inequities. So don’t let the devil tell you ain’t worth your God's blessings. He wants to use you no matter what.

“That’s why we Christians supposed to be telling the hooker on the street, the drug dealer, the person who in the hospital for trying to commit suicide, the gays, the lesbians. We’re supposed to be trying to save them and tell them 'You are worthy! God can use you, God can use me.' He gonna use humility!

“You need to tell the world how you lived your life at first. Y’all ain’t perfect. But you gonna pay for it if you do. Live for God, stand on his word. Don’t just read it and keep it for yourself.”

Williams soon apologized in a video-recording, saying:

"I woke up this morning disturbed and I felt that my heart was heavy and it was imperative for me to address the issue at hand. First let me say that God loves all his children. And although discriminate against other because of their race, their religion, their sexual orientation, their status in life, that we’re all worthy of God’s love. The sermon that was shown was shown not in its entirety therefore the message was omitted. I apologize that those words hurt the LGBT community, my fans and my supporters. Life is a journey and I’m growing every day. And I continue to encourage everyone to love each other unconditionally."

Housewives co-star Cynthia Bailey had criticized Williams' sermon, saying, "To put gays and lesbians in the same category as drug dealers, hookers, and people who attempt suicide is ignorant and insensitive. Especially when she just recently profited from performing at a popular gay club in NYC." The NYC club in question was the gay Harlem nightclub El Morocco where Williams performed on May 2.
