Prince Harry Spits Champagne on Rival Polo Player Nacho Figueras

Princeharry

Prince Harry visited New York City over the weekend and played Polo on Governor's Island:

"On a brilliantly sunny day on Governors Island in New York Harbor, the 24-year-old prince drew a crowd that included stars like Madonna, actresses Kate Hudson and Chloe Sevigny, and rapper LL Cool J, but also lots of ordinary New Yorkers out for a rare sight: a polo game in the city. 'You see this out in the Hamptons, but not so much in the city,' said Vincent Hodgins of Manhattan, who brought his two sons to watch the prince play. The Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic was a fundraiser for Sentebale, the charity that Harry has set up with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help poor children and AIDS orphans in that small African nation surrounded by South Africa."

He also spit Champagne on world class Argentinian polo player Nacho Figueras after the athlete and model doused him with it.

Dutch Queen Beatrix Targeted in Car Attack

Carattack

Six people including the driver of a car targeting the Dutch royal family were killed as the car swerved through a crowd of people striking a monument during a Queen's Day holiday parade yesterday.

The Guardian reports: "The suspect, a 38-year-old man identified by Dutch media as Karst Tates, had been in a critical condition since the attack during the Netherlands' Queen's Day holiday yesterday. Tates told one of the first police officers to rush to his car that the attack was aimed at the royal family, prosecutor Ludo Goossens said. Neighbours in the village of Huissen told Dutch media he had been fired from his job as a security guard and was facing eviction from his home. But police said he had no history of mental illness or criminal record. Twelve other people were hurt when Tates rammed his car through police barricades and into onlookers towards an open-topped bus carrying Queen Beatrix. The car ploughed through police cordons metres away from the royal bus before crashing into a stone monument to the late Queen Wilhelmina."

Prince Harry Flaunts Wig and Bra at Secret Society Initiation

Pictures of Prince Harry in drag with beer in hand were featured in a British tabloid over the weekend.

Harry  The Mirror reports: "Ruddy-faced Harry, 24, is exclusively pictured in today's Sunday Mirror clutching a beer can and wearing a wig, bracelet and pink garland - at a gathering of the secret uppercrust TT Society. The elitist society devotes itself to drinking - so Harry fits like a glove. As well as getting in touch with his feminine side, the prince also proudly wore his light blue and gold tie - given to members of the TT only after a special initiation ceremony. One member said: 'The TT is very secretive and has strong links with the military and Oxford Brookes University - where a lot of the members met. You have to be recommended for membership - and Harry fits the criteria perfectly because he loves being in the forces and getting p***ed. Drinking is a massive part of the TT - events revolve around alcohol, where members drink until they throw up."

British Queen Mum's Former Home a Wedding Venue, but Not for Gays

The Queen Mother's former home — Scotland's Castle of Mey — has become a popular wedding venue, but its trustees have decided that only "Christian weddings" will be performed there. It's a position that may be untenable under anti-discrimination laws, according to The Daily Mail:

Queenmum "The location is being billed as ‘Scotland's latest romantic wedding venue.’ However gay rights group Outrage described the decision not to hold same sex civil ceremonies as ‘ridiculous’ given The Queen Mother's well-known association with gay people – and claimed it appeared to be ‘illegal’ under sexual orientation discrimination. But the Castle of Mey said its decision was not outside the law as it did not have a wedding licence - and under the legislation only Christian weddings could be held there, as ministers or priests were individually licensed to perform. But it stressed that the trustees had decided it would not hold civil ceremonies, which include same sex partnerships, or those of a non-Christian nature..."

Said David Allison spokesman for [gay activist group] Outrage: "This seems even more ridiculous given that The Queen Mother surrounded herself with gay people - including 'Backstairs' Billy Tallon (her devoted servant). Doing this at the Queen Mother's old residence is particularly odd. She had no problem with gay people - quite the opposite."

Prince Harry Rocks Pink Nail Polish on His Night Out

Nails2

Prince Harry, who's currently training to be a helicopter pilot, showed up to Raffles nightclub in London on Friday night in pink nail polish, which incidentally matched his boxers.

The Daily Mail reports: "According to sources at the club, the young Royal was escorted into the venue by a Royal protection officer and stopped briefly to chat with Arabella Musgrave, Prince William’s ex-girlfriend. ‘Harry arrived quite late at about 12.30 and didn’t even acknowledge the bouncer when he lifted up the access rope,’ says a fellow guest. ‘He clearly wanted as little fuss made as possible about him coming to the club so no one knows why he was wearing pink nail varnish."

UK Gay Activist: Prince Harry's Male Kiss 'Liberated and Enlightened'

Harrykiss

Earlier in the week I posted about Prince Harry's home video, which recently surfaced and showed the third-in-line using racist terms for his fellow soldier, who is Pakistani. The video also contained references to gays, and while some thought it homophobic, the UK's leading gay activist Peter Tatchell is defending Prince Harry.

PrinceharryTabloid News of the World reported on the video: "Later Harry, wielding the camera again, asks another member of the squad to talk through the exercise they have just done. He asks for 'your ups and downs in the exercise. Highs and lows. Good people, bad people. Good points, bad points.' Off camera, he adds: 'How do you feel? Gay? Queer on the side?' Then Harry asks another cadet: 'Anything you want to say? There’s no secrets here. Quickly just tell me what the f ** k is going on?' ... Other scenes in the video diary show Harry enjoying party nights out with his pals on manouevres. In one scene the Prince—now on the wagon—mockingly mouths to another soldier “I love you” before kissing him on the cheek and licking his face."

Said Tatchell: "For him to happily give his soldier friend a public kiss and lick his face strikes me as rather liberated and enlightened, for a straight man. If only more heterosexual men were relaxed about same-sex affection like Harry, the world would be a better place. The context and intention of words is crucial in deciding whether they are offensive or not. I don't find anything objectionable about the context in which Harry used the word queer."
