Human Rights Campaign Exposes Extreme Anti-Gay American Activists

Export of hate

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has released a new report that exposes some of the most vitriolic activists in the U.S. promoting anti-gay bigotry abroad.

These extremists claim that LGBT people are responsible for the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide, and the spread of HIV/AIDS; that LGBT people are luring away children; that acceptance of LGBT people will lead to the destruction of the family; and that the death penalty could be an appropriate punishment for simply being gay.

6a00d8341c730253ef01a73e170bc2970d-800wiHRC points out that these anti-gay activists often secure audiences with heads of government and their spouses, testify before politicians, build relationships with community leaders and other prominent citizens, lobby United Nations delegates, get involved in the drafting of national constitutions, and intervene in international court cases that affect the lives and rights of LGBT people.

The report titled The Export of Hate, which focuses on dangerous homophobe Scott Lively and others, details their connections and associations, nations in which they are active publicly, available information about their resources and examples of their public bigotry and hatred of gay people.

Lively has been accused of crimes against humanity for inciting anti-gay hatred in Uganda and aiding in the passing of their "Kill the Gays" bill.

The report also exposes the "work" of Benjamin Bull, Jordan Sekulow, Peter La Barbera, Paul Cameron, Sharon Slater, Robert Oscar Lopez, Brian Brown, Larry Jacobs, Brian Camenker, Mat Staver, Michael Brown, Janice Shaw Crouse and Scott Stirm.

Ty Cobb, HRC Foundation’s director of Global Engagement, said:

“Hate is not an American value, and we must expose and fight these individuals and their extremist allies. This is a destructive group of activists spreading anti-LGBT rhetoric, promoting laws that criminalize LGBT people, and seeking to restrict their speech and those who support them.  Although their views may find little traction in the United States, public opinion in many other nations makes their words and global advocacy fundamentally dangerous.”

New HRC Report Exposes the Dangerous Anti-gay Agenda of the World Congress of Families: READ

Lively

A new report by the Human Rights Campaign dives into the World Congress of Families' dangerous agenda of exporting anti-gay hate across the globe.

WcfLabeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and active in several nations across five continents, the Rockford, IL-based Christian organization and its affiliates (like Scott Lively) have played a significant role in Uganda and Russia's passage of anti-gay laws this past year. The group is also planning to hold its annual convention in Salt Lake City, Utah next year.

"This organization and their affiliates' global advocacy have corresponded with a dangerous rise in anti-LGBT laws, discrimination, and even violence around the world," said Cobb. "Their harmful impact is being felt in nearly every corner of the globe, and we urge all fair-minded Americans to reject the World Congress of Families and their exportation of anti-LGBT hate."

The report, which you can read AFTER THE JUMP, also documents WCF's origin and founding members, a timeline of its major international events, affiliations with prominent American officials and organizations, and lobbying efforts.

You may recall WCF being the same organization that was barred last November from Senate meeting rooms by Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) because of it's history of virulently anti-gay activism. House Speaker John Boehner later secured a congressional meeting room for the group - proving that bigotry in even its most insidious forms still has strong allies in Congress.

Evangelical Hatemonger Scott Lively Qualifies For November Ballot As Independent: VIDEO

Lively3

The Boston Globe is reporting that evangelical hatemonger Scott Lively has gathered the necessary signatures to qualify for the November ballot as an independent candidate for governor.

The Secretary of the Commonwealth's office confirmed Wednesday that Lively's campaign submitted 11,494 valid signatures, far above the 10,000 needed to secure ballot access as an independent this fall.

Lively joins the future Republican and Democratic nominees as well as independent candidate Evan Falchuk as candidates certified for the November ballot.

Back in March, Britain's Channel 4 looked at Lively's involvement with Uganda's anti-gay law and his long-shot candidacy in Massachusetts. You can check out that video, AFTER THE JUMP...

Scott Lively Takes Aim At The 'Dangerous Heresy' Of Gay-Affirming Christians - VIDEO

Lively2

Vile homophobe Scott Lively has taken to promoting a brochure attacking gay-affirming Christians, even those who disagree with the religious right’s odd obsession with homosexuality but believe it to be a sin, reports Right Wing Watch.

Lively is known for helping to spread anti-gay laws in Africa (an allegation he denies) and for his book The Pink Swastika, which blamed gay people for the rise of Nazi Germany.

The brochure, A Biblical answer to the question of homosexuality and the rise of “gay theology” in today’s church, is being promoted by Lively on BarbWire, the virulently homophobic website belonging to anti-gay wingnut Matt Barber.

LivelyIt includes 18 short interpretations of Bible passages that Lively says make his point that homosexuality is “the harbinger of God’s wrath.” It also states that:

  • “Not a single Biblical passage portrays homosexuality positively.”

  • “Condemnation of homosexuality predates the Mosaic code and is reaffirmed in the New Testament, so it bears no relation to the ban on ‘eating oysters’ or other supposedly ‘repealed laws of the Bible.”

  • “Jesus unequivocally condemned ALL sexual sin including homosexuality by affirming the ‘one flesh’ paradigm of Genesis.”

In the BarbWire post, Lively says the LGBT equality movement is pursuing a long-term “blueprint for supplanting Biblical morality with sexual anarchy — in essence, the overthrow of family-centered Christian civilization.”

He argues that the “one last barrier to ‘gay’ cultural hegemony remains: the Christian church. All of the battle-hardened ‘gay rights’ activists with all of their formidable resources are mobilized for an assault on Christianity itself under the hijacked rainbow banner of ‘Gay Theology. Indeed, the process has already begun, like the retreat of the tide before the tsunami.”

Lively also takes the time to sell his hatred for hard cash, referring to himself as “one of a small group of highly educated and experienced pro-family advocates available on a limited basis for speaking, seminars and Christian media interviews at sdllaw@gmail.com.”

And in case you missed it earlier this month, watch Lively's 'debate' with newly out Christian singer Vicky Beeching, AFTER THE JUMP... (the debate starts at the 5-minute mark, following a profile of Beeching.

Scott Lively Says He's 'Not Unhappy' Uganda's Anti-gay Law Was Overturned

Lively

Scott Lively, the American evangelical hatemonger who helped Uganda pass its brutal anti-gay law, has written a column claiming he's "not unhappy" the law was struck down in its present form and says he's now waiting for calls of apology from media outlets who "for years have insinuated (or outright insisted) that the Ugandans were merely my puppets in a nefarious scheme to persecute homosexuals there"

Writes Lively:

The maliciously deceitful attempt by the global “gay” movement and its media allies to paint Uganda as a pariah state filled with hateful bigots (as in the propaganda film “God Loves Uganda”), is simply a disgusting modern example of the same “blood libel” used against the Jews by the Nazis.

I am not unhappy that the Ugandan law as written has been nullified. I have always said it was too harsh and did not emphasize prevention and therapy for homosexual disorder. The law’s enactment and quick repeal conclusively demonstrate that Ugandans can think for themselves, are capable of self-governance, and do not need “enlightened” Marxists and homosexual militants from the West to shape their public policy and uphold the rule of law.

Lively, who is set to stand trial for "crimes against humanity" for his role in helping pass Uganda's bill, has been steadfast in his denial of having any role in drumming up anti-gay hysteria in Uganda...despite video showing Lively 'educating' Ugandan lawmakers on how gays are "evil," "serial killers" and "Nazis"

Scott Lively Denies Anti-Gay Role in Uganda, Says Obama Might 'Be a Homosexual': VIDEO

Scott lively

On Sunday, Britain’s Channel 4 profiled American evangelical hatemonger Scott Lively and his role in helping Uganda pass its brutal anti-gay law last month

Lively, who is currently running for governor of Massachusetts, is shown in the video linking gays to pedophilia, the Holocaust and Rwandan Genocide and calling President Obama a "homosexualist" who "may well be a homosexual himself."

But Lively maintains throughout the interview that his views and activism haven't contributed to any anti-gay hysteria in Uganda...
