Scott Lively, on Trial for Crimes Against Humanity, Announces Run for Massachusetts Governor

Anti-gay evangelist Scott Lively, who is on trial for Crimes Against Humanity in Uganda and recently took credit for influencing Russia's anti-gay laws and also believes that Obama is working with Satanic gays to bring about the apocalypse, says he's running for governor of Massachusetts as an independent.

Scott_livelyWrites Lively on his website:

The people of this state need a candidate who can clearly and unapologetically articulate Biblical values without fear or compromise. They need a candidate who will tell the simple truth that abortion is murder, and homosexuality is condemned by God (but that Jesus forgives and heals those who repent). That parents and not the state have authority over their children, because government is our servant and not our master. That socialism is slavery and humanism breeds corruption. But mostly they need a leader who will remind the people that Massachusetts was founded upon Jesus Christ and the Bible and that our future security and prosperity depend on restoring our trust in Him. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord!” Psalm 33:12.

He adds:

As a long-time favorite target of extreme “gay” and leftist slander I have skin thicker than a rhinoceros and cannot be intimidated or manipulated by critics or the media.

Scott Lively: Russia's Anti-Gay Law is 'One of the Proudest Achievements of My Career' — VIDEO

Lively_fischer

Anti-gay evangelist Scott Lively, who is on trial for crimes against humanity in Uganda, tells AFA spokeshater Bryan Fischer that, why yes, he did have something to do with Russia's law banning gay propaganda, RWW reports:

"I indirectly assisted in that, and it's one of the proudest achievements of my career."

Scott Lively: Acceptance of Homosexuality is the Moral Issue of the End Times and Nobody's Noticing — AUDIO

Anti-gay evangelist Scott Lively, who is on trial for crimes against humanity in Uganda and recently took credit for influencing Russia's anti-gay laws and also believes that Obama is working with Satanic gays to bring about the apocalypse, reiterated some of the latter thoughts in a recent inteview, Good As You reports.

Anti-gay Evangelist Scott Lively: Obama Working with Satanic Gays to Bring About the Apocalypse: AUDIO

LivelyIn case you were unaware, Scott Lively, the anti-gay evangelical nutcase who takes credit for Russia's anti-gay laws, knows exactly how the world is going to end in the next couple of years. Luckily, he's willing to share snippets of his insight with the rest of us.

In an interview with right wing radio host Rick Wiles yesterday, Lively revealed that the Antichrist is currently in charge of the largest superpower in the world (read: Obama) and that homosexuality is "at the heart of the Antichrist kingdom."

Humorously, Lively later argues that Vladimir Putin and his anti-gay regime remain Earth's last hope for redemption:

"We don't want to gloss over the problems that we have with Mr. Putin but by the same token he's the only world leader capable of standing up to the West and he is championing the traditional marriage and Christian values regarding the central moral issue of our time that no one else has the capability to do what he's doing. Really there's a chance here for him to inspire all the morally conservative countries of the law to adopt a similar law that he just adopted, his country just adopted and really have a chance maybe to roll some of this terrible agenda back."

Anti-Gay Evangelist Scott Lively Takes Credit for Russia's Anti-Gay Laws: VIDEO

American anti-gay evangelist Scott Lively, who is on trial for crimes against humanity, and who we've written about many times on this site, sat down with NBC News for an interview about Russia's anti-gay laws.

Scott_livelyHe takes credit for them:

“Yes, I think I influenced the Russian law,” Lively said. While some gay rights activists still think he’s just a laughingstock, Boris Dittrich, the director of LGBT advocacy for Human Rights Watch, tends to confirm Lively’s claims. Russia was plenty homophobic before Lively’s arrival but the American pastor appears to have given shape to that free-floating hatred, Dittrich said. As he passed through Russia’s regions, Lively met with politicians and bans on homosexual propaganda followed, spreading to more than a half-dozen areas before Putin swept them into a national standard.

Lively — who calls himself the “father” of Uganda’s anti-gay movement — also shared the first sharp details of his work in Eastern Europe and responded to the rise in hate crimes that seems to follow him around the globe.

2_livelyNBC posted two clips of Lively speaking at a Watchment on the Walls conference in Novobsibirsk, Russia's third-largest city, in August 2007 where he spoke to 1,000 Christians:

“There is a war that is going on in the world,” Lively said through a translator. “There is a war that is waging across the entire face of the globe. It’s been waging in the United States for decades, and it’s been waging in Europe for decades. It’s a war between Christians and homosexuals.”

NBC goes on to describe Lively's other anti-gay crusades abroad, and the lawsuit that could put a halt to them:

Pamela Spees, an attorney with the Center for Constitutional Rights, the group pursuing Lively for alleged “crimes against humanity” in Uganda, said she is prepared to file a second lawsuit related to his work in Russia and the surrounding countries, assuming there’s evidence that Lively was “an architect of the persecutory program” there.

And that’s why the case against Lively is so important, gay-rights activists say. As the Olympics draw nearer and the boycotts and homophobic backlash continue, Putin will be the guy paraded down the world’s front pages and social media feeds. But Lively may be the secret agent to watch.

If he loses his lawsuit he could be prohibited from spreading his message abroad, a terrible precedent for other anti-gay crusaders. However if he wins, he emerges stronger than ever, the self-described “hero” of an expanding fight to restore “godliness to society,” as he puts it – or else “pull as many people as possible into the lifeboat before the ship goes down.”

Anti-Gay Bigot Scott Lively To Stand Trial For Crimes Against Humanity

Scott Lively
We and other gay blogs have reported on evangelical pastor of Abiding Truth Ministries Scott Lively many times, from him claiming that the rainbow flag was a sign of the end times to hiring child molesters to run his coffee shop. What The Pink Swastika author is most notorious for though is inciting anti-gay hatred in Uganda and aiding in the passing of their "Kill the Gays" bill, a law that is so broadly worded that just touching someone can be enough to be in violation of the law, and heterosexual citizens could receive the death penalty for failing to turn in gay people they know.

US District Judge Michael Ponsor has ruled Lively's persecution of LGBT people a crime against humanity and is accused of helping to play a part in the persecution, arrest and murder of gay people in Uganda. Lively's lawyers, naturally, requested that the lawsuit be dismissed.

As an added bonus, US law allows foreign citizens to sue for violations of international law in US federal courts under the Alien Tort Statute, so Ugandan victims of Lively's crimes have an avenue to seek justice.
