The ladies of The View discussed the J. Crew ad I posted yesterday which had FOX News and its flock up in arms. Sherri Shepherd agrees with the wingnuts angry at J. Crew that boys should not wear pink nail polish. At least she wouldn't allow her son to do so.

Variety Ad: GLAAD, African-American Groups Call on ABC and 'The View' to Publicly Correct Misinformation on Black Men and HIV

GLAAD, the National Black Justice Coalition and the Black AIDS Institute today published a full-page ad in Variety calling on The View and ABC to publicly correct disparaging misinformation from Sherri Shepherd and D.L. Hughley on a June 22 episode (see third video) of The View blaming Black men for increased rates of HIV in Black women, despite evidence to the contrary from the CDC.

More than 3,000 people participated in GLAAD's original 'call-to-action' yet no action has been taken by the show's producers or its hosts.

Shepherd Blocks Etheridge and Hasselbeck Prop 8 Wrestling Match

Yesterday, on The View, Melissa Etheridge tried to explain the founding fathers and the protections built into the Constitution to Elisabeth Hasselbeck in a discussion about Proposition 8.

Explained Etheridge: "Actually one of the things that was difficult about this was the - Thomas Jefferson wrote a paper (saying) the rights of the minority should never be voted on by the majority - that should never happen."

Hasselbeck basically said she believes that the majority should vote on the rights of the minority, and before Melissa Etheridge had chance to verbally smite her into a pile of right-wing dust, Sherri Shepard interrupted and said, "We wanted to talk about your CD."
