Pastor Steve Anderson's Disciple Says Gays Should Be Killed Because They're 'Filthy Faggots' Who Snatch And Rape Children: VIDEO

Romero

Pastor Steven L. Anderson (above right), of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Arizona, made headlines earlier this month when he said the world would be AIDS-free by Christmas if we simply stoned all gay people to death.

Anderson has also said that gays are "basically rapists" and compared them to ax murderers and Hitler.

Now, it appears Anderson has a disciple who is every bit as hateful as he is.

Right Wing Watch reports that earlier this year, Anderson ordained Pastor Donnie Romero (above left), who now leads Stedfast Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

Last Sunday, Romero delivered a sermon called "Public Example" in which he also called for gays to be put to death:

"I'm going to explain to you why God wants these people to be put to death. ... The word of God is very clear that God is against the sodomites, that they're filthy and it says they're an abomination to God. … I love that part of the Bible, and I'm going to preach that part of the Bible until the day I die, and if I ever stop preaching that part of the Bible, I hope my kids tell me, 'Dad, you're going soft on sin, you need to get up there and rip on these queers, because it's only getting worse and worse.'

"And amen to what Pastor Anderson said — I'm not going to let any of these dirty faggots inside of my church. They are all pedophiles. ... They're always trying to rape and hurt other people. They're relentless. They are relentless. They are predators and given an opportunity to snatch one of your children, they would do it in a heartbeat."

Christians Protest At 'Kill All Gays' Pastor Steven Anderson's Arizona Church - VIDEO

  Steven Anderson protest

About 100 people held a peaceful demonstration outside Steven Anderson’s Faithful Word Baptist Church yesterday morning to protest the “Christian” pastor’s announcement earlier this week that the only way to cure HIV/AIDS is to stone all gay people to death, reports AZ Central.

Earlier today we reported that when Anderson was taken to task for his comments by Phoenix TV station KPNX anchor Mark Curtis, the pastor compared gay people to ax murderers and Adolf Hitler, said that homosexuality is a “fallacy” and admitted he would reject his children if they were gay.

The protesters gathered before Anderson’s Sunday morning sermon carrying signs with messages including "Teach love not hate," "Jesus loves everybody", "Honk if you support love" and "AIDS is not a gay disease."

Anderson3While Reverend Jeffrey Dirrim gave communion to protesters, Rabbi Dean Shapiro of Temple Emanuel of Tempe read a prepared statement to the crowd:

"We deplore this pastor's hate speech and calls for violence, especially when these statements come from a man who purports to be a faith leader in our community and especially during this season when we long for peace, justice and reconciliation.”

Watching the demonstrators with members of his congregation, Anderson - who like many a wingnut before him appears to be revelling in the attention - said:

"A lot of businesses pay to have sign-wavers. I'm just glad people know we're here. I'm not ashamed of what I believe, I'll preach it from the housetops. And anybody who wants to read it can go to the Dollar Tree and pick up a Bible."

He added that although he does not condone violence, he strongly believes that homosexuality should be banned.

'Kill All Gays' Pastor Steven Anderson Compares Gay People To Ax Murderers, Hitler - VIDEO

Anderson2

An Arizona news anchor has challenged nasty anti-gay preacher Steve Anderson on his recent call for the stoning to death of all gay people, reports the Advocate.

Anderson, who has in the past wished for death by brain cancer for President Obama, gay people, and Michelangelo Signorile, told his followers in a World AIDS Day sermon that the best cure for HIV/AIDS is to kill all gay people. Anderson also told his congregation that “all homosexuals are pedophiles.”

In an interview with Phoenix TV station KPNX anchor Mark Curtis, Anderson refreshingly doesn’t claim to not hate gay people and refers to himself as a “religious zealot.”

Anderson, pastor of the Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, claims that “according to the Bible, homosexuality is a capital crime."

He masterfully avoids Curtis’s question as to whether he would want one of his own children to die if they were gay, arguing that homosexuality is a “fallacy” because people only become gay when the reject god. He admits that if he did have a gay child he would reject them.

Anderson bizarrely compares gay people to Adolf Hitler and murderers:

“That’s like saying, what if your daughter, you know, grew up to be an ax murderer?” he says. “What if your son grew up to be like Adolf Hitler?”

'Kill All Gays' Pastor Doubles Down on Hate, Claims Gay People Are 'Basically Rapists' - VIDEO

Arizona pastor Steven Anderson, who recently suggested that the only way to cure HIV/AIDS is to stone all gay people to death, has since posted a video on Facebook that reveals “the truth about sodomites,” reports NCRM.

Although Anderson made much of his personal Facebook page private following revelations of his latest homophobic rant, he reposted a 2013 video titled “The Truth About the Sodomites” on his church’s page along with the standard anti-gay circular argument that people who stand up to bigots are bigoted themselves.

AndersonSeething a level of hatred possibly beyond even that of wingnuts Scott Lively and Mat Staver, in the hour-long video Anderson says that gay people are vile, unclean, against nature, “haters of the lord,” “filled with murder” and “basically rapists.”

He also compares gay sex to an animal eating its own vomit, bestiality and suicide and states that gay people “will hump just about anything.”

No stranger to disgusting outbursts, in 2009 Anderson wished for death by brain cancer for President Obama, gay people and Michelangelo Signorile.

Pastor Suggests Killing All Gays So World Can Have an AIDS-free Christmas: VIDEO

S_anderson

Arizona pastor Steven Anderson, whom some Towleroad readers will remember because he wished for death by brain cancer for President Obama, gays, and Michelangelo Signorile, told his followers in a World AIDS Day sermon that he knows a way that the world can be AIDS-free by Christmastime:

“Turn to Leviticus 20:13, because I actually discovered the cure for AIDS. This is the cure for AIDS. Everybody's talking about 'let's have an AIDS-free world by 2020.' Look, we can have an AIDS-free world by Christmas...90 percent AIDS free...If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, even both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along — and they’re out spending billions of dollars in research and testing. It’s curable — right there. Because if you executed the homos like God recommends, you wouldn’t have all this AIDS running rampant.”

Anderson then goes on to label all LGBT pedophiles and talk about his "no homos" policy in his church.

It's not the first time Anderson has spewed his views. Back in 2009, he told Alan Colmes:

"I believe that every homosexual in the world is a deviant, is evil, and is a predator that is out to recruit others through molestation, through rape. It's in the news...I would keep my kids away from them. They're deviants. They're not normal. I am saying that [Barney Frank]'s perverted, and he's sick, and I would put him in the category of other homosexuals. Do I think that homosexuality should be against the law? Well, it's against God's law."

'Death of President's' Day is Here for Some

John Avlon, in The Daily Beast, takes a look at how President's Day is a great excuse for hate pastors like Orange County's Wiley Drake and Arizona's Steven L. Anderson to pray for the death of Obama.

Anderson

Anderson’s gospel of hate is careful to hit the culture war trifecta: God, Gays, and Guns. Gays, he has said, should be executed—(“The same God who instituted the death penalty for murders is the same god who instituted the death penalty for rapists and for homosexuals, sodomites, and queers!”). And as for guns, well, they’ve been as common as Bibles in his church some Sundays. In fact, Chris Broughton, the man who brought an AR15 assault rifle as a protest outside an August ’09 Obama event in Arizona, attended the “Why I Hate Obama” sermon just the Sunday before. Broughton has called it “the best church in the world.”

When Anderson was interviewed by the local Phoenix Fox affiliate about his imprecatory prayers, he denied he was calling for violence. “If you want to know how I’d like to see Obama die, I’d like him to die of natural causes,” said Anderson. “I don’t want him to be a martyr, we don’t need another holiday. I’d like to see him die, like Ted Kennedy, of brain cancer.”

What’s the point of wading through all this hate? Because there is a cost to mixing politics with religion and confusing partisanship with patriotism. Presidents’ Day is a time when we are supposed to view politics with a sense of perspective. But lately, the idea of a loyal opposition to the president has been degraded, from Bush Derangement Syndrome to Obama Derangement Syndrome—demonization of our president for partisan gain leads some deranged people to pray for his death.

Of course, we've featured Anderson's sick brand of hate in these pages before:
