Conservative View co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving to join her ilk at FOX and Friends, the NY Post reports:
After much speculation, conservative co-host Hasselbeck is following Barbara Walters and Joy Behar out of the ABC daytime talk show.
She will join Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade on the Fox couch in mid-September.
FOX News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes announced, “Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on “The View”. She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.”
Hasselbeck added, "I have been a long-time fan of “Fox & Friends” and am excited to be joining their team in September.”
Hasselbeck is taking Gretchen Carlson's place.
Zachary Quinto appeared on The View yesterday and demonstrated that years of practice facing Barbara Walters prepared him to be able to charm the pants off her.
"I used to set up a video camera, and I would put a light on myself, and I would ask myself questions in my head, not out loud, like 'what was your biggest fear getting you to this moment in your life and career?'. But I wouldn't say it out loud. I would only say it to myself and then I would answer it out loud to the video camera, as if you were on the other side of the camera..."

Like Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck is reportedly leaving The View. However, it may not be of her own volition.
US Weekly reports:
According to the source, the show's resident conservative voice is being ousted after market research revealed that she isn't popular with TV audiences.
"The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing," the insider tells Us. "People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed."
When reached for comment, a rep for the show told Us in a statement: "Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a valued member of The View and has a long term contract."
Meanwhile, Brooke Shields is rumored to be joining the table.
Joy Behar is leaving The View, reports the Hollywood Reporter:
"Joy Behar has been instrumental in the success of The View from the very beginning," read a statement from ABC. "We wish her all the best in this next chapter, and are thrilled that we have her for the remainder of the season."
...Behar and Walters had seats at The View table with Meredith Vieira, Star Jones and Debbie Matenopoulos when the show premiered in 1997. Tweaks to the lineup along the way, most notably the firing of Jones and Rosie O'Donnell's controversial two-year stint as moderator, led to a current panel that includes Sherri Shepherd, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Whoopi Goldberg.
Said Behar to Deadline: “It seemed like the right time. You reach a point when you say to yourself, ‘Do I want to keep doing this?’ There are other things on my plate I want to do — I’ve been writing a play, I’ve been neglecting my standup.”
