Senator Inhofe Proud His Family Never Had a Gay

Inhofe

Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) pointed to a portrait of his family on the Senate floor yesterday to make an important point:

"As you see here, and I think this is maybe the most important prop we’ll have during the entire debate, my wife and I have been married 47 years. We have 20 kids and grandkids. I’m really proud to say that in the recorded history of our family, we’ve never had a divorce or any kind of a homosexual relationship."

What a charmer. Isn't Bigot Pride Month great?

Where's Larry Flynt to dig up some dirt on this ass!

Of course they don't have a gay in their family.... they all married each other...OY!

I have a feeling the Senator is going to regret saying that. Statistically, the odds are that 2 of his kids/grandkids are gay, so I'm looking forward to seeing somebody out one of them.

Somehow I doubt the Cheneys will respond to this, although perhaps Mary will call him a "good man" someday.

And in the same spirit, there's the following letter in today's edition of USA TODAY, who says "two left shoes do not make a pair and two persons of the same sex do
not make a marriage."
http://snipurl.com/rgkp
Why not (calmly) contact the author and explain a few things to her.

TWO LEFT SHOES
In response to the gay marriage amendment debate: No matter what their
style, two left shoes do not make a pair and two persons of the same sex do
not make a marriage.
There is more involved in marriage than two people legally sharing a home
and a bed — for example, the balance of masculine and feminine natures.
While it might be reasonable to allow adults of any gender to create legal
domestic partnerships that allow them to share finances, insurance and
inheritances, sharing a bed should not be required or even discussed. I don't
want to know what people do in the privacy of their own homes.
Does it harm me if others call their same-sex relationship a marriage? Yes,
in the same way it would harm you if I distributed my own newspaper and called
it USA TODAY.

Just a few decades ago interracial marriage was forbidden by law in the United States as being contrary to our "traditional values." I can't help but wonder if this Utah doctor would have written a letter back then saying that marriage between persons of different races was "a set of mis-matched shoes." One shoe tan, one black...? Just as insulting.

Heh, forget that. lets just sign her up for internet porn spam.. LOL!

Posted by: Darren | Jun 7, 2006 9:46:51 AM

Let's do some digging quick! I'm sure we could find a 'mo in his family tree somewhere.

Posted by: gaychocolate | Jun 7, 2006 9:48:39 AM

AMazing. If he was my uncle I doubt I'd speak to him about poking some ranch hand behind the shed. What a fucking tool.

Posted by: Seangstm | Jun 7, 2006 9:55:27 AM

Someone just needs to plant a nice big kiss on this guy. But who can we get to do such a disgusting job? Oh, and as for the porn spam, already on it ;)

I can sense karma is winding for a big ole smackdown on this one. I feel bad for the family member that will eventually come out. It's going to be harsh.

Posted by: MT | Jun 7, 2006 10:02:44 AM

Those that will be hurt most by this unfortunate display of bigotry are the said grandchildren still being reared. I can only imagine the inner turmoil they'll experience if they catch themselves looking at the same sex a little too long. After all, their grandfather has already assumed their sexuality to the nation!

Posted by: Jason | Jun 7, 2006 10:03:36 AM

I'm sure it's a great comfort to the Senator's family that he is intimate with every detail of their sex lives.

He says he doesn't have a gay in the family.

That he knows of.

Both my grandfathers would have said the same thing. And they would both be wrong.

Im a member of the KKK. As you can see, in my family there are no Asians, Blacks, or Hispanics.

Posted by: Anon | Jun 7, 2006 10:07:02 AM

Inhofe has put his entire family's personal lives into the national debate. I wonder how they feel about that?

Posted by: Sam | Jun 7, 2006 10:10:23 AM

Why again is is that Osama and Co. really hate us? It can't be because of our freedom and rights. Oh yeah - oil.

Posted by: Linear | Jun 7, 2006 10:16:27 AM

That such things can be said on the senate floor without fear of reprisal says as much about us as it does about him.

Angels in America:

Roy Cohn: "Like all labels they tell you one thing, and one thing only: Where does an individual so identified fit into the food chain, the pecking order?

Not ideology or sexual taste, but something much simpler: clout. Not who I fuck or who fucks me, but who will come to the phone when I call, who owes me favors. This is what a label refers to.

Now to someone who does not understand this, a homosexual is what I am because I have sex with men, but really this is wrong.

A homosexual is somebody who, in 15 years of trying cannot get a pissant anit-discrimination bill through the city council.

A homosexual is somebody who knows nobody and who nobody knows. Who has zero clout."

and the band ...

Inhofe's porn-gate - discovery of Internet pornography on Sen James Inhofe's office computers forces him to withdraw opposition to gay ambassador-designate James Hormel - Brief Article

It seems there is nothing like a good sex scandal to hammer some sense into antigay politicians. Just days after the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call reported that aides in Sen. James Inhofe's office had downloaded massive quantifies of Internet pornography, Inhofe announced that he would drop his threat to block all nominations by President Clinton.

The Oklahoma Republican made the threat after Clinton employed a rarely used executive privilege during Congress's Memorial Day recess to make philanthropist James Hormel the first openly gay U.S. envoy. Inhofe had led an 18-month battle to block Hormel's nomination as ambassador to Luxembourg even though a majority of senators indicated they were prepared to approve the nomination.

Inhofe said he dropped the threat because Clinton had written to Senate majority leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.) saying that he "made it a practice to notify Senate leaders in advance of our intentions [on nominations] in this regard, and this precedent will continue to be observed."

But gay rights groups jumped on Inhofe's scandal nonetheless. The pornographic material was found during a routine check of his office computer system. Roll Call reported that there was such a huge volume of sexually explicit material that it had "messed up the senator's computer system." The newspaper did not describe what kind of X-rated material was found.

"Senator Inhofe's staff should have used their highly honed Internet skills to download the Constitution instead of pornography," said David Smith, communications director for the gay lobbying group Human Rights Campaign, in a press release. "They would have learned that there isn't a constitutional right to place a hold on nominations."

dear God at least he is the senator from the other side of the state... Wait Coburn isn't any better.
You wouldn't know it but this is one of the few states I feel comfortable walking hand in hand with my bf in.

I feel sorry for his family because there are probably closted gay people in it.

Whatever, he is not even worth getting upset about. He's a nut on every count.

jmg, this was hysterical: "Somehow I doubt the Cheneys will respond to this, although perhaps Mary will call him a "good man" someday."

i wish i could improve on that.

What? No bachelor uncles or maiden great-aunts...inconcievable. No tragic "handgun accidents", nor "...ran off and joined the Army/Navy, stayed for-life, married to his career"?

As they say, perfection comes from hiding your "flaws". It is a shame that people pride themselves on the silliest things.

OMG -- that's hilarious!

Posted by: Kenneth | Jun 7, 2006 4:36:47 PM

Do you think any of his kids or grandkids would let this "Bigot" know they were gay!?
I mean seriously....

Posted by: talldarkman | Jun 7, 2006 7:02:28 PM

I don't know if you can call it a relationship, but I'm faily certain the third one from the left in the back row sucked me off at that rest stop just outside Oklahoma City.

Posted by: Tony | Jun 7, 2006 8:53:38 PM

That was hilarious.

I agree with another person here. I am in Oklahoma and find it just fine to be gay here. Everyone knows and I never have any problems. I have also held hands in public and shared quiet moments with a boyfriend in public. Hell I live in a rural town as well.

The biggots appear to all be in office around here.

I'm sure he doesn't realize it (as if he could anyway), but this is yet another example of heterosexuals flaunting their sexuality. There he is on the floor of the Senate showing photos of what happened after he and his wife had heterosexual sex. And then the results (their kids) hooked up with others and had more heterosexual sex and produced, yep, yet more kids. Flaunting it like hell! And with pictures to prove it.

Posted by: Mark | Jun 9, 2006 3:44:05 PM

So... he could have said it this way and it would have had the same meaning: "See this woman here in the picture? That's my wife. I fucked her and she got pregnant and had kids. Then they fucked with other heterosexuals and had more kids. Our family likes to fuck. Otherwise we wouldn't have 20 kids and grandkids. And I brought this picture to show you the results of all that fucking. Isn't it great when heterosexuals fuck? We need to promote that."

Posted by: Mark | Jun 9, 2006 3:51:27 PM

One way we could put our gay dollars to work for the cause is to hire a private investigator to find out how many of his relatves are either gay or have had homosexual encounters. I don't care how freaky his family is, somebody had to have done SOMETHING!
