Superman: Just One Elbow Flex from Jazz Hands

Folks are saying all kinds of things about the new Superman Returns poster (click for larger versions) including the suggestive placement of a certain peninsula (though that's a bit of a stretch imho).

And the Advocate recently asked, How Gay is Superman? Well, The Hot Blog did a hysterical remix on the poster that proves just how gay he is...

However, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it was another superhuman who could also stop speeding bullets named Neo.

And lo and behold, it does appear that both Brandon Routh and Keanu Reeves had the same hand coach who knew just the right moves to inject a little...drama.

Elton John stuns a nation by saying "wanker" at tea time: The veteran star was appearing on The Paul O'Grady Show to celebrate the first anniversary of the Billy Elliot musical, for which he wrote the music. But he shocked some onlookers with his candid answer to a question posed by one of the musical's young stars about his unusual middle name. Cary Grant & Randolph Scott's "Bachelor Hall" for Sale

The four-bedroom home that Cary Grant shared for many years with his "roommate" Randolph Scott is for sale at 2177 W. Live Oak Drive in the Los Feliz neighborhood of L.A. Grant also shared it with his first wife Virginia Cherrill. When she moved in, Scott was given the boot.

The house was dubbed "Bachelor Hall" after rampant rumors that Scott and Grant were involved caused red flags to go up at the studio. From Wikipedia:

"Biographers disagree on whether Grant was bisexual. While Marc Elliot, Charles Higham and Roy Moseley consider Grant to have been bisexual, with Higham and Moseley claiming that Grant and Scott were seen kissing in a public carpark outside a social function both were attending in the 1960s, Graham McCann dismisses the claims as rumors. In his book, Hollywood Gays, Boze Hadleigh cites an interview with gay director George Cukor who said about the alleged homosexual relationship between Scott and Grant: 'Oh, Cary won't talk about it. At most, he'll say they did some wonderful pictures together. But Randolph will admit it – to a friend.'"

They certainly look very cozy in the photo above. In any case, those of you wishing to bask by Grant's old pool should have a little cash to shell out. The asking price is a cool $3,995,000.

Superman Returns and Brandon Routh Flies

This appears to be the first clip of Brandon Routh in flight, from the upcoming Bryan Singer-directed Superman Returns. It's a clip from an Australian Coke commercial. I think in these close-ups Routh looks distinctly like a young Kyle McLachlan.

In the clip, Superman is flying over a freeway when the tail section of an airliner bursts into flame and breaks off. Superman must then save the beleaguered airliner.

Australian Big Brother Star Opens Up About Gay Bashing

Australian Big Brother contestant David Graham, who last week outed himself on the show after one of the female contestants expressed an interest in him, has revealed he was brutally gay bashed earlier this year by a gang of five men outside a Brisbane nightclub:

"Before I knew it there were guys behind me and they were just beating the back of my head. All I can remember after that is the pain. They absolutely beat the s--- out of me. My mate said they just kicked me while I was on the ground until they thought I'd had enough or they were scared they had killed me. The assault left him with severe bruising across his face and body. My whole face was a mess of blood. I was taken to the hospital and was in and out of unconscious for two hours. If you've been bashed by five guys you would expect there to be some type of internal injuries or brain damage after the kicks I took to the head -- thank God there wasn't."

The revelation has reportedly strengthened the contestant's popularity among viewers of the show who vote to choose a winner. Australian oddsmakers have put Graham at the front of the pack.
