Usher Digs Homophobia

Usher

Gay sex is okay, but only if it's about objectifying women, according to recent comments made by Usher.

From GrooveVolt: "In the latest issue of Complex magazine the singer was asked if there were ever any homosexual activity at his famous orgy parties and the superstar responded, 'There was women on women but never man on man. Shit, nowhere near that! No one I ever roll with or ever would have roll with would get down like that.'

So this must mean that none of Usher's hairstylists, wardrobe stylists, trainers, producers, executives, friends, family members or anyone else (that comes within 10 feet of him for that matter) are gay."

Maybe Kanye West and Usher should sit down for a little chat. What are these guys so scared of?

UPDATE: I just found out some interesting news. GrooveRevolt lifted this item from our good friend Rod's site Rod 2.0 from a post he had done recently, nearly verbatim. It's a great site, one in my blogroll that I visit frequently and highly recommend, so I apologize to Rod for crediting GrooveRevolt. Please give Rod 2.0 a visit now and often.

  1. where do you start here?

the hard core hip hop scene has always seemed to be all about being proud, strong, and ubermasculine. Being gay, effeminizies them, and is weakness.. blabbity blah blah.

all that aside, I think the more someone is against us, the more I think they have actually been tempted or crossed the line and got really scared by what they saw on the other side of the streets.

Sad really, that such an uber-man sub group can be scared of a leather daddy and a drag queen.. :) hehehe. more power to us!

  2. yeah, these comments REALLY bothered me...and it makes it worse that he's being positioned as *THE* voice of R&B.

  3. Umm, that's an interesting bit of news being that his ex, Chilie of TLC fame when on record right after they broke up to disclose that the reason why she had to leave him was because he liked boys.

  4. THE voice of R & b. Please. He does a bad Michael Jackson & Prince knock off routine. He is trying to get some thug creds because his market thus far has been MTV teen girls and gay boys.

He has been given role model status before anyone knew what he thought and now he says some things that marginally offensive and everyone gets their panties in a bunch.

He is a singer nothing more nothing less. We pay these people way to much attention.

Ushers impact on my life and the lives of most people on the planet is nil.

  5. And let's not forget, these guys are not Harvard educated Phd's or anything.
They tend to react in ways that they think will help conform them to the stereotypes of ubermasculinity. These guys are not intellectuals and even if they have an education beyond the high school level, they are not looking to expose that through thoughtful and nuanced discourse.

  7. Those who think such people have no impact on our lives are fools, more dangerous, as such, than the homophobes themselves.

  8. Yep that's me a fool. And I am more dangerous than a homophobe. Thanks for pointing that out Leland...Is everyone you disagree with a fool? Because it appeared as such over the time I have been reading this blog.

  9. "Chilie of TLC fame when on record right after they broke up to disclose that the reason why she had to leave him was because he liked boys."

Hee! I bet she knew that that would be the comment that would piss him off the most.

  10. Leland, are you serious?

  11. Donald - just because YOUR life isn't affected by Usher, doesn't mean the same for others. Perhaps a less ego-centric view on the issue would allow you to get out your own way and see what impact it may have on countless impressionable youth.

  12. He did not say that he hates gay people he said he did not expect to see two men fucking at his orgies. He does not think any of his friends are gay. The other people listed are employees not friends (he does not discriminate against them if he hired them.)

Just because I am not over reacting it does not mean my view is ego -centric. And do you really believe that now mass amounts of young people are going to go out an bash just because Usher does not want man on man action at his parties?

  13. To quote the Donald:

"Ushers impact on my life and the lives of most people on the planet is nil."

I've got to agree. No truer, non ego-centric, un-foolish words have been spoken on this topic thus far.

Usher is a Paris Hilton, a Spice Girl, a Britney, an MC Hammer, a New Kid on the Block.

Does anyone know the correct spelling of
    "whoop-diddy-do-dah"?

  14. Usher is a prick. Watch any interview footage of him and you will see what I mean. He obviously takes his role as "superstar" way too seriously and no doubt puts his staff through fucking hell. He's a pompous, egotistical, bigoted, hypocritical (the old 'lesbians are cool but not fags' trope) prick. And anyone who feels the need to have high-profile "hets and dykes only" orgies is pretty suspect sexually as far as I'm concerned.

  15. >>No one I ever roll with or ever would have roll with would get down like that.

I don't guess this nervous, little man would have any objections if some big, bad white guy said the same thing about associating with Blacks.

By the way, why is it okay to have an NAACP, but not an NAAWP? Why is it acceptable to have a BET, but not a WET? Why do we tolerate a Miss Black America pageant, but not a Miss White America pageant?

I know I'll be called a racist for bringing this up, but the truth is really pretty plain to see. We tolerate anti-white prejudice and racism every day. I guess it's "white guilt" or something, but it's not right. Prejudice is prejudice. If you tolerate any of it, you have to accept all of it.

    Speaking of Miss Black America....

In 1971, Oprah Winfrey competed as Miss Black Tennessee.

1n 1991, Boxer Mike Tyson was a Judge in the pageant, and the following year was convicted of raping Miss Black Rhode Island.

  18. "1n 1991, Boxer Mike Tyson was a Judge in the pageant, and the following year was convicted of raping Miss Black Rhode Island."

    Wasn't it Miss Indiana?

Couldn't agree more with you on the rest...

Dubya has been working to change all that as he has scientists working on a new flu strain that only attacks blacks...

His daddy tried AIDS years ago when with the CIA and it's still working in Africa.

One worlders have solutions for all kinds of problems only Dubya has the final solution for the fourth reich that will reign for a thousand years...
