  1. Question, how can people from other countries donate to No On 8? "Foreign nationals are prohibited from making contributions..." What's a Canadian to do?

  2. Make it work, Tim!

Am I the only guy here harboring a secret fantasy which involves a romantic dinner with Tim the Silver Fox wherein he gently, but firmly admonishes me for a poor choice in my evening attire, then suggests that perhaps he has something more approprate for wear from his bedroom closet?

  3. Good for Gunn but calling this a misleading PSA is a misnomer because people can interpret that it means that it's appeared on television which I don't believe it has. Perfect example, one widely distributed gay newspaper on the east coast wrote that Ellen's great video was already appearing on TV when, as far as I know, it hasn't yet (though I understand that's her goal). Sadly, Gunn's clip and several others are likely only to be see on the Internet by people who are 99% already anti 8.

Lara -- do you have US resident friends that you could gift with some money? What they choose to do with it -- hint hint -- is their businesss. THANK YOU for understanding that beating 8 is important far beyond California.

  4. Grrr. Should be "callng this a PSA"

  5. It's a good message overall, but he gives the wrong web address! The address on the screen (noonprop8.com) is correct, but he tells people to go noon8.com, which has nothing to do with the campaign.

  6. Would anyone who actually knows who Tim Gunn is, be voting for Prop 8? This is seriously preaching to the converted. TG is on the gayest reality show on television, chances are, those who watch, are already voting no. Unless this is a "get the vote out" PSA and not a "consider this" PSA, the no on Prop 8 folks have to start looking outside their bubble and start getting "butch" actor to do these ads. How about the fellas from Prison Break, or Law & Order SVU etc. etc.

  7. Lara,
If you have any friends in Canada who are US citizens, they can donate to NO ON 8. If you are a Canadian citizen living in Canada, you can still contribute to Equality California (which has been working hard on this issue} but you cannot designate it specifically for their NO ON 8 Campaign.
You can call 323.661.2O71 or do it online by clicking the icon after the list of states that says ``not in USA.``

  8. Lara,
I`m sorry, since yesterday when I posted, I have realized that the answer to your question may be more complicated. No one I have talked to knows for sure.

  9. Lara, unfortunately foreign nationals cannot contribute to No on 8. But you can call or write all of your U.S. citizen friends and urge them to donate. There are no contribution limits, so if you have rich friends, start with them!

  10. Equality California tried to clarify the answer for me today. They confirm what I said a few posts up. Lara as a Canadian can donate to an organization like Equality California but cannot designate it to their NO ON 8 campaign.
Or, like Chris, said, you can get an American friend to donate (whether they live in the US or not}.
