Women probably not from Venus, but men may really be from Mars.

Keith Boykin makes a visit to London and offers a report on what it's like to be black and gay in the UK: "I got the impression that many of the people in the community were looking to black gay Americans for inspiration, but at the same time they were hoping that we in the U.S. would be more aware of their lives and struggles of people outside our own country. Once again it was clear to me that black Britons knew a lot more about black Americans than we know about them. And Black gay Britons also seem to know a lot more about black gay Americans than we know about our British counterparts."

Is this rap or something altogether different? Gay duo the Mirrorboiyz want to prove homophobic rappers wrong: "Recently, 50 Cent said that gays could never be a part of the rap game because they aren't aggressive enough. I guess we want to prove him wrong. If we're not aggressive enough, we can at least be sassy enough." Download two songs at Arjanwrites.
Language Log takes a look at how the word Brokeback has entered the lexicon.
Gambling on bigotry? Wingnut Missouri town of Blackjack says you can't own a home unless you meet their definition of family.
Tom Delay's good-bye speech. See ya.

Go to Wal-Mart's website and tell them you apprciate their standing up to the Amercan Family Association's protest of the sale of "Brokeback Mountain" in Wal-Mart stores (sorry for the run on sentence). Hell, even buy it from them.

Does Wal-mart have a history of not stocking items of gay interest like movies? Are they considered to be not gay-friendly in their staffing or benefits practices?

What are you all talking about? I don't see any kind of article about Wal-Mart. Or is this just a off-topic post?

Where is the ACLU? One couple last year was forced to move away. When I read this posting, I assumed it was something that had just been passed and would be struck down immediately. But after watching the CNN video, I realize this nightmare has been going on since at least last year!

C&L has an edited version of poor Tom Delay's speech which highlights his nervous hand fiddling. I love how Tom Delay, one of the nastiest pols out there, is whining that he's quitting because of the nastiness of the upcoming campaign. I love how the most powerful and influential play the martyr role precisley at the moment that they are bringing themselves down and blame it on everyone they don't like. Bill O'Reilly does it well. Remember when he declared that Terry Gross has "ambushed" him on her show simply because she used his own baiting game against him and won. Little old Terry Gross....ambushed Bill O'Reilly....LOL
Just because people glaot at your demise doesn't mean they're responsible for it. That was all you Hammer.
Ian, if you read the first post it mentions Wal-mart. That's what I'm talking about. Scroll.

Re: Blackjack - Unfortunately that isn't some small hick town. It is a small Suburban hick town of Saint Louis. It is pretty common here to have residency requirements as set by zoning commissions. One of the most affluent zip codes in the area- Ladue - continues to enforce a similar requirement. In the case of Ladue, it was two lesbians who challenged it and lost.
You see, first they ban gay people from marrying, now they just want to force all the straight ones to pair up!

re: Blackjack. Can cities in the U.S. do that? Sounds illegal to me.

Why does Dean need an enlargement??
Posted by: Jason | Apr 4, 2006 6:12:39 PM
I am a little confused...this was shown on public television? And I agree...that is a particularly nice tool...and I thought that procedure doesn't work?
Posted by: Randy | Apr 4, 2006 6:34:58 PM
"Why does Dean need an enlargement??"
Because he's insecure.

I thought after any penile surgery you need a third "nut" to attain an erection. What exactly is done to make it larger?
Posted by: NYCtransplant | Apr 4, 2006 11:19:56 PM
I bet he really only wants it fattened so they would just inject fat into the penis to make it wider. Damn them hungry sugar walls.

P.S. I'm still trying to figure out why this guy is smiling. Sure he is cute and has a nice body but he seems far too willing to expose his flaccid penis for the camera. It rests on the nutsack nicely but it's really not very long or big so why is he being so cocky about it? So to speak. I can only assume it's average when hard but as I look at it being manipulated while soft, it's unattractive substandard.

Wal-mart speaks with two minds on the matter of LGBT rights. Firstly, it must adhere to Canadian federal law in identifying all married couples, opposite or same sex.
For the USA, Wal-mart offers its eligible employees with domestic partner benefits. You must remember, of course, that the Waltons emanate from the Buckle of the Bible Belt, and are "conservative" Presbyterians. Their success was in the land where Southern Baptists are the majority, followed by the "conservative wing" of the United Methodists.
The last thing that a northwest Arkansas-based company - despite the fact that Momma and son Robson are the only two residents of the "Ponderosa" -wants is an AFA protest.
Robson was not raised in AR, but in ivy league feeder schools prior to his time at Columbia and the University of Pennsylvania - of course, he is all-Ivy....while "Ma and Pa W" were University of Arkansas. A world class education for a world class connection. The second and third generations are NOT homespun, cornpone or hillbilly....

BTW - you can drive from Bentonville AR to the Missouri state line in about five minutes.

The commentary on the lexiconic use of brokeback was interesting.
It highlights, as always, the problem with male homosexuality as opposed to lesbianism.
To the homophobe, the heteronormative fascist sees penetration as coitus, and ergo, one is sublimating his dominance to accept the other's phallus....conjugality...
They see, of course, that lesbianism in a sexual sense is mutual masturbation or coitus with clitoris or a penile appliance. This even overwhelms the belief that women are to these homophobic fascists, inferior in the patriarchal scheme.
This is why the worst offenders of gay rights in centuries past never legislated against lesbian behaviours but only male homosexuality.

Yes the penis documentary was shown on public television because the Brittish aren't particularly strict when it comes to censorship...have you never seen the Coupling episode where they say "fuck" a billion times?

Andy, you need to mark that exam as totally NSFW.
