BoingBoing yesterday showed off this genius skull made of melted 80’s metal band tapes by Brian Dettmer, which I find has more depth as a piece of “art” than Damien Hirst’s $100 million extravagance, “For the Love of God”. Although it is perhaps a bit incorrect to disregard Hirst’s piece simply for its excess, as that’s partly what it’s about.
I do love that Motley Crue’s “Shout at the Devil” is the basis for the tape skull’s jaws.
