And rewards him by recycling most unflattering photo shoot ever from December '06.

Looking through the previous winners, the only ones I really agree with are John F. Kennedy Jr. and Harry Hamlin (don't laugh). The magazine does seem to have a real talent for picking unappealing pictures to go with their "sexiest" moniker - even if I thought the guy was handsome in other contexts, the picture makes me go "no".
It's striking, too, how many older guys they seem to pick... think we'll ever see Helen Mirren on the cover of Maxim magazine as the sexiest? no, I don't think so either, even though that wouldn't be any more unreasonable.
Anyway, as far as People goes, if their sexiest man alive list has never included Antonio Banderas or Hugh Jackman, there's clearly something wrong with it.

Sam, Matt and Ben are in the same camp. LOL.
That said, Matt Damon really is one of the sexiest guys alive. He pulls off hot, intelligent, talented, cute, nice and fun all off at the same time. Heck, I don't even usually like guys over 30, but I'd take him any day of the week. LOL. He's one of true cases where he's gotten hotter as he's gotten older.

They should have gone with their #2 pick... I'm a big Matt Damon fan, but Patrick Dempsey's photos in the same spread COMPLETELY outshine the Matt Damon photos.
...if he's #1 they could have at least sprung for a new photo shoot. Matt deserves that much! :)

Matt Damon has been on my 'Hottest Men in Hollywood' since he first appeared in that stupid Meg Ryan vehicle about the female soldier in the first Iraq War. And if that is what an 'aging suburban dad' looks like, then sign me up.

His clothes and hair do not look the same. I think it was a different photo shoot. And I bet that's the way Matt wanted to look to promote the Bourne movie. Certainly People Magazine could have chosen a better pic, especially since he has such a beautiful and sexy smile. But he still looks damn hot to me!
