  1. OMG! Once Obama fully supports my equal civil rights, I will be thrilled to visit LGBT for Obama and throw my full support behind him.

So sick of accepting and supporting the best of the worst. Politics is so degrading.

  2. Where is the LGBT site for McCain? OH!... it doesn't exist. McSame is so out of touch, it is sad.

  3. Jesse, maybe you should visit the site and educate yourself.

  4. Uh....so we're supposed to raise money for someone who says that "God is in the mix" so we shouldn't be allowed to be married?

And yeah I've heard the "better of two evils" argument but that's pathetic.

I'll save my money for the eventual candidate who has the balls and moral integrity to state the obvious: that we deserve every right every other American enjoys.

  5. We pretty much hit our limit this year donating to Hillary.

Now we have to fight to keep our marriage legal.

  6. It is a shame that some people cannot accept the reality of today's political world. Instead they point to tired quotes and fantasy thinking, saving money for the "eventual candidate" who will never get elected. Vote for Obama and get over it. Shame on you simpering Mary's out there wishing on a rainbow, it ain't gonna happen. WAKE UP!

  7. So the 54 page Democratic Party Platform "renewing America's Promise" finally comes out and the fact and reality is that for all the talk of diversity, inclusion, acceptance, blah, blah, blah.. the words "GAY","LESBIAN","BISEXUAL" and "TRANSGENDERED" do not appear once in the platform???? WAKE the fuck up Democrats and America. We exist so deal with it. Beyond Pathetic.

  8. Obama said just a week ago that gays had NO right to marriage, and that we were "broken" and needed to be "fixed."

This gay man will most certainly NOT be voting for Obama!

(and notice, that website gives you NO opportunity to give them any feedback, whatsoever!)

  9. I guess it is no different that LGBT peoples that will vote for McCain.

At least Obama's camp is allowing this to happen for now.

  10. Still not sure why this site keeps tossing Obama's salad. He tolerates gays, not really supports them. Wake up folks, he's not all that much better than McCain...he just puts on a "happy face."

  11. "At least Obama's camp is allowing this to happen for now."

Did you really mean to say that? Allowing?

  12. SFSHAWN: While those words you searched for may not appear in the platform, Tammy Baldwin, one of the drafters, claims "It's a historical document in terms of LGBT equality." (I think she means "historic.")
    http://www.madison.com/tct/news//300597

Perhaps this is what she had in mind (quoting from the draft):

It is not enough to look back in wonder of how far we have come; those who came before us did not strike a blow against injustice only so that we would allow injustice to fester in our time. That means removing the barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding that still exist in America. We support the full inclusion of all families in the life of our nation, and support equal responsibility, benefits, and protections. We will enact a comprehensive bipartisan employment non-discrimination act. We oppose the Defense of Marriage Act and all attempts to use this issue to divide us.

Allow All Americans to Serve We will also put national security above divisive politics. More than 10,000 service men and women have been discharged on the basis of sexual orientation since the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy was implemented, at a cost of over $360 million. Many of those forced out had special skills in high demand, such as translators, engineers and pilots. At a time when the military is having a tough time recruiting and retaining troops, it is wrong to deny our country the service of brave, qualified people. We support the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” and the implementation of policies to allow qualified men and women to serve openly regardless of sexual orientation.
