How far we’ve come. Just 50 years ago America was actively afraid of electing a catholic president because they thought he would be beholden to God’s Law instead of Constitutional Law. Today candidates can openly say they approve or disapprove legislation because of the bible. In fact they can base their entire candidacy on their religion. This country has truly evolved. What an open an wonderful society we have become that we can now accept what just 50 years ago we reviled.

I think I’m going to go puke in the corner now . . .

Very worried. We’ve got one on the Supreme Court (Scalia) and possibly two (Roberts). Swing votes in the NY legislature are publicly wringing their hands because of their personal religious principles, as if they were elected to actuate their personal religious principles. Now American civil principles are being subordinated to religious doctrine as part of a national presidential campaign platform. It’s no different doctrinally from what the Taliban achieved for a while in Afghanistan. It needs to be taken seriously.

In Romney’s presidency, to marginalize the evangelicals while making them “feel” empowered he could offer Bachwoman a post as AIDS Czar.

And she might decline it in favor of Marriage Czar or head of the Dept. of Education.

Lame excuse of a pagan not to follow Christ and Abrahamic Unitarianism
